About Me

Create or get your
very own MySpace Layouts I love fashion, film and photography, I hate sports and rednecks (ok I'm a bit of a metro) but mainly I eat live and breathe music, I think and talk about it constantly to the point where I annoy my friends who thought they were really into music. Don't play music trivia with me because you WILL lose. From what studio it was recorded in to what producer's brother's cousin played guitar on it, I am an information sponge. I also have kept every HM, CCM, Metal Edge, Mix and Pro Sound News magazine I've ever bought (believe me I have a large filing cabinet dating back 20 years). When I was growing up, it was all about hard rock. When I wanted to go see AC/DC with my friends, my mother (who I love dearly) said "you can't go see AC/DC in concert! The devil dances on stage with them every night!" I said "AWESOME!" I was hooked on rock ever since. I'll never forget my dad tearing down my Stryper posters and telling me "I don't want you listening to this psychedelic rock" since it was the 80's I had never even heard the word psychedelic let alone knew what it meant. I loved rock and new wave 80's pop (weird combo, huh?) I was and still am musically schizophrenic. The metal heads would call me a fag for listening to The Cure or Duran Duran. Growing up in a conservative Christian family I was only allowed to buy certain music so my first albums (or cassette tapes) were White Heart’s "Don't wait for the movie" and Petra's "Back to the street".The mid nineties rolled around and I was getting into a lot of indie records and hated what a lof the rock "market" had become. I started hanging out at the local record store and arguing with the clerks about which Pavement or Pixies record was better. I started getting into stuff like Blur, Jellyfish, Beck and Radiohead. I liked it all. I made the transition successfully. I can see the cock rock rehab program slogan now: "This program will take you from Firehouse to Firehose in 90 days", or "Down with Winger..Up with Weezer!"I am absolutely obessed with Luna Halo, Butch Walker,Kevin Max, Mute Math and Matt Mahaffey from Self at the moment. My wife Christen is my best friend in the world and we have two dogs that we treat better than most people treat their children. I have a degree in Audio Engineering and have worked in several studios. I've probably had more jobs than anyone you know. I've been playing guitar for about 19 years now (man that's crazy). My faith is what drives me and I strive to have a deeper relationship with God although I cringe at most of what goes on in the name of Christianity or the so called modern church. My heroes are C.S Lewis, my father who just recently passed away and my grandfather. I consider myself to be extremely loyal to my friends, since I was adopted I look at them as my extended family. My main passion and creative outlet is my band called Rook whom I play guitar for, we play fun brit pop rock and someday will take over the world or at least the English speaking portion of it.I am also currently the live guitarist for Randall Shreve.
