Interview / Press Release "The decks are home for me. It really is an art form that is grossly misrepresented. Someone who can get people to shed their inhibitions, get to the dance floor and keep it packed all night...that's a fucking artist. It's that simple." Sincere, and without compromise, Steven Andrew's perspective seems to go hand in glove with his commanding onstage presence. From his beginnings in the LA underground, to his recent success with residencies including one of North America's longest running and most successful 80s & Alternative music night clubs, "80s Club Addiction" (Almost a decade old and still going strong, showcasing alternative music Dj's from around the Globe and has been voted best 80s Club in Los Angeles and Orange County multiple times), along with other notable clubs such as Orange County's notorious Former "Club Make-Out" (Quan's Rocking Sushi), Hollywood's Club Hell (Ivar, now Façade), and dj performances at the Halloween Fetish & Fantasy Ball (Las Vegas, Nevada), which is ranked by Maxim Magazine as "One of 5 events to attend before you die". He is also among the dj's of choice for official concert afterhours for the likes of Depeche Mode, Morrissey, and The Violent Femmes. His inability to except anything less than the best remains evident with every night. Spinning an intoxicating blend of music ranging from the dark, to the dominating, once the stage is his, so is the attention of the entire dance floor. With a relatively short yet respectable amount of time as an established dj in LA's fast paced, hot today cold tomorrow atmosphere; Steven Andrew has not only been able to maintian his role but continues expand his popularity through out the world of Southern California's thriving club scene. His rapidly growing resume includes some of Los Angeles, Las Vegas, San Francisco, San Diego, and Orange County's most revered locations. Steven Andrew not only has cemented his potential, but continues to evolve as an artist by divulging into other genres bounding them together with a common vibe and an amazing progression that creates his unmistakable sound. "I grew up with so many different influences; it's hard to just repeat myself. I want to make sure people hear something they have never heard before by the time they leave. The DJ is always bound by a certain scene or genre; I am trying to do something different." Look out for his up coming releases and remixes and consider yourself enlightened to what many already know and believe; Steven Andrew is at the forefront of a new generation of SuperStar Djs.
