About Me

We, like two artificial gods,

Eve always knew she needed music like air and water. When she was nine, she started taking piano lessons and also discovered her love for singing. She played the keyboard in a school band when she was 15 and sang backing vocals, started playing the guitar as well and gave her first solo concerts in her hometown's pubs. Never feeling the wish to settle with a certain style of music, she wrote her own songs, mixing folk and pop elements. She performed as a background singer in different rock and folk bands and as one half of a blues/folk duo. Listening to rock, wave, electro pop and many other styles, she kept looking for a musical haven - and found it with candyslade.
Rick was born on January 8th - he shares his birthday with David Bowie and Elvis Presley. Growing up in a tiny, boring town, his only highlight were the local pub's band rehearsals, and he snuck out to listen secretly. Falling in love with music, he learned to play the classical guitar and also started writing his own lyrics and short stories. He discovered his first all-time favourite band Queen as well as numerous different bands and styles - such as rock, punk rock, folk and medival-inspired music, wave and electro pop. Being obsessed with so many different styles, he found one of his own with candyslade.
At the concert of a common friend, Eve and Rick met by coincidence. Eve was the guest singer for a couple of songs that evening, their friend introduced them...and they soon found out about the accordance of their favourite music and bands and decided to start their own project.
