About Me

John Tyler Wines specializes in small-production Pinot Noir and Zinfandel from the esteemed Bacigalupi Vineyards in the Russian River Valley. Bacigalupi Vineyards, established in 1956 by Charles and Helen Bacigalupi, was the source for the Chardonnay used by Chateau Montelena to win the historic “Judgment of Paris” Tasting in 1976. The vineyard has a total of 175 acres planted to Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Zinfandel and Petite Sirah.John Tyler Wines was founded in 2002 through a partnership between two family members, grower John Bacigalupi and winemaker Tyler Heck. John Bacigalupi is 3nd generation grower raised on the same ranch that he farms today. Tyler Heck, the grandson of Korbel Champagne Cellars patriarch Paul Heck, is a seasoned young winemaker with prior stints at Dry Creek Vineyards and Iron Horse as well as wineries in Australia and Europe.John Tyler produces approximately 1,400 cases of wine per year.
