The Brothers Cup is a five-piece band, from Gravesend, Kent. They started the band about 2 years ago, under the name 'Jaded' which only stuck with them for about half a year, until they began to delve further into their musical abilities and thus decided on a new name that would reflect not only their musical talents but also their bond together as a band. They decided on 'The Brother's Cup' named after a Red Hot Chili Peppers song (which took them about another year to think of.)
The band play a few of their own material, which can be described as a conjunction of punk, funk and rock, as well as some covers from a variety of different bands from a variety of different genres.
Each member brings his own musical influences to the group in attempt to satisfy most listeners. Kill Bill and Matt help deliver the bands hard hitting riffs that can be related to old-school bands such as Led Zeppelin, The Who and Metallica as well as more modern day bands such as Avenged Sevenfold. Dom creates the bands more melodic sounds in relation to the Foo Fighters and Powderfinger. Jako brings an odd combination of ska and funk into the mix through odd influences the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Madness and Guns n' Roses. Tom completes the set with his ability to adapt his drumming skills to any style of music through careful listening and analysis of particular movements throughout rock history (with heavy regards to the 90s grunge movement, such as, Pearl Jam and Alice in Chains.)
The band thoroughly enjoy themselves when on stage, whether it being jamming a popular song or just getting the people to clap their hands with the beat, all listeners leave satisfied!
