R.O.M.E. is a 22 year old native of Birmingham, Alabama. He started making music at the age of 12 and began transitioning it from a hobby into a career. In 2003 he founded of the independent label Dynasty Enterprise Music Group, LLC and started a production company called SSC Productions, LLC. Throughout the next 3 years R.O.M.E. would go on to release 4 successful mixtapes, otherwise known as the Dynasty Enterprise Underground Mixtape Series serving over 70,000 through the streets and Internet.
After the release of Vol. 4, he began producing for the debut album from the label titled R.O.M.E. & DY Enterprise Presents...We Takin' Over. In the summer of 2006, he appeared on the Underground Talent Mart (UTM) TV Show in Atlanta to debut the buzz single "We Don't Dance" to 19 markets including, New York, St. Louis, Birmingham, and Hawaii. The performance led to many opportunities. Some of these opportunities were performing for the likes of Grand Hustle, Juvenile, Da Brat, and producer Shondrae to name a few.
In the early Winter of 2006, the debut album R.O.M.E. & DY Enterprise Presents...We Takin' Over was almost completed and slated for a March 20 release date. With collaborations from the newest signees, Da Original Too Deep and stellar production from SSC Productions, over 60 songs were recorded for a 17 slot album. In order to further promote the upcoming album, R.O.M.E. released 2 mixtapes in January. R.O.M.E.'s U Get What U Grind 4 mixtape was released January 20 via www.myspace.com/dyent. Some material from the album, exclusive freestyles, and remixes were released January 27th with the 1 DJ in the South, DJ Smallz "Mr. Southern Smoke". The DJ Smallz & R.O.M.E. Before The Takeover mixtape reached over 10,000 fans and received a 3.5 out of 5 review in the June '07 issue of Ozone Magazine.
After the release of the mixtape, label reps contacted R.O.M.E. and company. With plans to distribute the album with a major, R.O.M.E. decided to put the album on hold to further negotiate. Unfortunately, no parties could come to a reasonable agreement and R.O.M.E. went back to the drawing board to finish the anticipated album. Shortly after, the Hip-Hop internet site Sohh.com did an article on R.O.M.E. in their Sohh Dirty section and labeled him as 1 of the artists on the verge from the South.
With the combination of hard work, a solid fan base, and quality music, R.O.M.E. was labeled “Leader of the New Generation†by DJ Smallz to lead the movement for the new generation of southern artists to stabilize Hip-Hop's growing southern genre. This Fall, the two will work together again on the DJ Smallz & R.O.M.E. - Unfinished Business mixtape. With future appearances on Southern Smoke & Fear Factor Music mixtapes, an upcoming EP & album, undeniable flow, and razor sharp lyrics, R.O.M.E. is poised as the next best thing coming from the South.
