About Me

Hi future friends! My name's Assad but I'm known to locals as the 'steel city striker' due to my avant-garde dating habits and disregard of Thatcher's dissolution of the mines. I'm originally from Bengal but moved to Sheffo when I heard the arctic monkeys, yeeeooouch, it's as if they are telling my life story. But through song. Seriously, I LOVE white peoples music. Like Billy Elliott I've been dancing since I was twelve, first with the elders of the tawaghoti group and later as second in command for the Linden Dance Troop who have worked with big names such as Michael Flatley (a god in my country) to Martine Mccutcheon (a really lovely girl). When I'm not leaping around dressed as a sailor, an armed guard or a merry raver, I can be found in a variety of local bakeries such as Cooplands, Gregs or, wait for it, Bakers Oven, where I am head of internet promotions. It's my job to ensure that emails are read, and I also judged the Post-Lent 'Grab a Granary' competition where Sarah Chambers of Thurnscoe won herself a brand new scooter! Well done Sarah x

My Interests

Without sounding profound, I would say 'Life.' People who know me would all agree that I would rather watch a bee land on a gentle rose petal than win a lot of money or learn to buy a house. That's just how I am. I love things and people.

I'd like to meet:

Anyone interested in taking part in a language exchange. I'm currently learning English at the White Rose centre for the Visually Impaired (Hi Carol, hope you can see this!) and would love to meet with any secure citizens, perhaps on a tuesday evening, to expand my thoughts and voice in your beautiful language. The cream horns are on me!

Music:

Other than the Tawaghoti tribe I enjoy certain parts of films, where the music used enhances the performance. My favourite is 'It must have been love' in 'Pretty Woman' (Julia Roberts, Richard Gere, 1990).

Movies:

I VERY much Enjoyed 'Pretty Woman,' (Julia Roberts, Richard Gere, 1990) Here is my favourite quote;Vivian: "You're late!" Edward: "You're stunning!" Vivian: "You're forgiven!"It's simple, yet beautiful.
