MyGen Profile GeneratorI like to make films. I have studied film and communications, so the relation was inevitable and I became obsessed with film language and experimental cinema. I dread to call myself a filmaker. Everybody has a a video camera and a PC with moviemaker so we are all filmakers. The digital era is very democratic - I could write an essay on this theme - that's another thing about me I'm very difficult to shut up sometimes.So yeah, my little films... I guess they come from a place in my head where the ideas borrowed from all the artists I have learnt about, my concepts and my dreams meet up.I enjoy the manipulations of the visual traditions and reshaping the familiar using tools from a very classical background. What do I mean in practical terms? Well, in "Turn" for instance I filmed a very mundane fireworks display, edited it to classical music, composed specifically for this piece, and manipulated the speed and colouring to question an emotional relationship between the viewer and the image.So.. a familiar image, with familiar music but subverted relationship between the two thus subverting the response. I suppose it might sound presumptious but I am driven by instinctual curiosity alone. Oh and the fact that the making of these pieces makes me incredibly happy, even if I feel unconfortable watching the films once they are made.What else about me? The rest of it is very mundane I suppose, I love films, music, books, arguing with people about everything, museums, gigs, my friends, galleries, food and most of all Adam's head and his fingertips.
