The Jam, Sham 69, Sex Pistols and Green Day mainly influence the band. Their sound, they have been told, is that of The Dead Kennedys, The Jam and The Clash. The result, loud catchy songs, powerful raw vocals carried by great guitar riffs and a back beat to die for.
The band has played at some of the souths best music venues such as The Railway Inn, The Hobbit, The Nexus and regularly at The Joiners. The high point of their career so far was reaching the southern finals of Battle of the bands. The final was held at a packed out Wedgewood Rooms, with twelve other bands, most of which were predictable indie bands. After the four opening acts the crowd were awoken by a sound and energy that no one could of predicted. Second skin ruled the stage and set the benchmark for the night, the crowed was jumping and screaming for more, it was a performance, which could not be touched. Some what predictably, Second skin came out runners up to the usual safe option indie band but this could not detract from the simple fact that, Second Skin are a punk band, finally bringing British punk music back
