Born and raised to Bulgarians in Italy, I started to produce aged 18 and after high school I moved to Berlin where I had 2 quite weird, a bit "chaotic" but great years.
I was setting up nights with a friend in Friedrichshain, east Berlin, for those who know the area: they were quite mad to be honest, but very good! We had guests like Society Suckers, Unura Menura, Hekate, etc etc...
I worked in a big music shop surrounded by blokes who made me get them coffee for the first 3 months, but i learned quite a lot and ended up liking it: then i gave it up, gave up uni switching to the british one and moved to the uk.
Platform 1 - night I co-run with Letty and Unlikely
The second Thursday of every month at Corsica Studios in Elephant & Castle. Big names playing alongside up and coming djs and producers. Following the success of the weekly Redstar Sessions last year, we have now moved to Corsica Studios which has 2 Funktion 1 soundsystems and a nice outside bit for smokers :D
people who have played so far: Kode 9, Benny Ill, Slt Mob, Scuba, D1, Chef, Ld, Heny G, Blackmass Plastics, Unlikely, Quietstorm, Controlled Weirdness, Warlock, Elemental, Stormfield, Underground Ice, Macabre Unit, Darkside, Deapoh, Oneman, Bok Bok, Whistla, AK47, Ben Ufo, Braiden, M2J, 7 Below, Decibella, Elgato, myself, plus more coming soon!!

My Interests

Music:

Band Website: subeena.blogspot.com - not fnished tho
Band Members:

Influences:

geek music.

i think squarepusher killed it.
prefuse73.
j dilla.
kraftwerk.
"angry / traitor" on ital."midnight" and "mud"."angel"(the one on hotflush, not the one by robbie williams obviously.)
halfstep in a way. i'm getting increasingly intolerant towards wobble bass tho.
"freak" by lfo.
I really like that Perc Trax release with the James Holden and Nathan Fake remixes.
Laurent Garnier.
Theo Parrish.

SebastiAn.
ian blackmass plastics.
the latest combat releases, especially the cursor miner / komonazmuk - whiteboi one.
i think windowlicker is the only tune that really takes the piss (in any sense).
i think autechres sound was a bit "mathematical" first but productions got heavy. some of chris clark's tunes are the deepest.breathe by telepopmusik.just that tune, it's the only one i knew. lauryn hill, aretha franklin and erikah badu.
even though they're boring now i think jamiroquai had a good debut, as also bjork (same year also, wasn't it?)
would like to include roads and ukg but i got too late for it i think.
i think speedcore should be officially forbidden.

and no gangsta hip hop or whatever please.
i thought moby was nicer when he used to make techno.
i like georgia anne muldrow's instrumentals.
and now that i found out it was actually that, hardcore.

Sounds Like:

PLATFORM 1 + IKONIKA's DOCUMENTARY "IT's NOT JUST BASS"

As you know, after Redstar got shut, I joined the crew which moved to Corsica Studios where I also work...Sessions are monthly, it' quite no budget and keeps abit that sort of family vibe of Redstar.....
