Heroes and Villains Productions
Heroes and Villains Productions is the collaboration between multi-instrumentalist songwriter Billy Mohler and engineer/mixer Dan Burns. The Los Angeles based production company utilizes a unique spectrum of musical and technical talents.
Multi-instrumentalist Billy Mohler, is an L.A.-based songwriter who has worked with everyone from Herbie Hancock, Macy Gray, Liz Phair to famed Bob Marley producer Lee "Scratch" Perry. Billy also co-produced and co-wrote The Jimmy Chamberlin Complex "Life Begins Again"(Sanctuary) record featuring The Smashing Pumpkins members Jimmy Chamberlin and Billy Corgan. Also featured is pop legend Bill Medley of "Rock and Roll Hall of Fame" group The Righteous Brothers and Rob Dickenson of the acclaimed, british band The Catherine Wheel.
Dan Burns honed his engineering and mixing skills in the Music Industry Arts program at Fanshaw college in London, ON, Canada. Immediately following his graduation he began work assisting and engineering for producer/songwriter Dan Brodbeck (Delores O'Riordan, The Cranberries, The Gandharvas). In 2000 he moved to Los Angeles and started to work with Producer/Mixer Scott Humphrey where he worked as a pro-tools editor and engineer on records with Rob Zombie, Ozzy Osbourne,Tommy Lee, and The Crystal Method. Since then working as an independent engineer/pro tools editor with artists Michelle Branch, BB Mak, Nas, Flashlight Brown, Fu Manchu and for famed producers Rob Cavallo, Joe Chicarelli, Dj Quik, and Diddy.
