My Interests

I have way too many interests to list. I like the arts. I'm fascinated with words and speech and how the two can be manipulated. I love a good pun and a perfect analogy. Film and music are my primary vices.

I'd like to meet:

Jeff Buckley,Jessica Biel,Jack Kerouac,Michael Landon, Jesus Christ, Rob Bottin,Henry Rollins, Marlee Matlin, Robert Pollard, Morgan Freeman and Hal Holbrook.

Music:

Jeff Buckley, Guided By Voices, Swervedriver,PJ Harvey, Queens of the Stone Age, Nirvana, Jane's Addiction, Pavement, Jawbox, Soundgarden, Sebadoh, Beastie Boys,Pete Yorn, Wilco, Foo Fighters, Prince, Radiohead, Soul Coughing, Public Enemy...Baby,I'm into it all!

Movies:

I may not know what's good, but I know what I like. My tastes are broad and a little left of center. I believe that movies and film are two separate artforms. Both have their merits, but I prefer films in a pinch. I am also a sucker for a documentary- the topic is really unimportant. There's something about the format of docs that I find strongly appealing.

Television:

Grew up on it. Still love it, but this whole reality thing has really played out. I require more fiction and fantasy in my entertainment.

Books:

I'd like to think that I am well read, but I've gone from an avid reader of books to something more of a fact-checker. I still buy art books, but not much more than that.

Heroes:

The closest I ever came to having a heroes was my Beastie Boys obsession, and 1986 was a long time ago.

I am waiting... for cheap thrills, natural disasters, the ghosts of dead friends to make good on promises, the end of cliches, the independence that filthy wealth affords, time machines, flying machin...

Catharsis...

So anyway, I found this image from "An American Werewolf in London" to use as my profile pic because, to this day, it still gives me the creeps. It's the only scary thing in an otherwise funny horror ...

H8RED: A work in progress.

I hate it when people say "That's funny..." instead of actually laughing. I hate hearing children singing in pop music. I hate crewcuts. I hate that Jackie Chan is stuck in a rut and is probably too o...

Charles Darwin? He never saw it coming!

I used to say that I have made fun of so many things in my life that it wouldn't be a surprise to me when my first child is born and it is a giant, gelatin covered, pulsing eyeball with eig...

I'm still waiting... I've been waiting for the zombies to rise from the dead to consume the flesh of the living. I know that it's a horrible thing to want and wait for, but I feel that it could be a l...

When I was a kid I was afraid of monsters coming into my house and killing me as my family slept. What's a boy to do? My solution to this was to lie down as flat against the mattress as I could an...
