If I held my ground would you ask me to change?

About Me

I'm Kristen...I need these staples in my life, in no particular order: coffee, wine, good food, running, laughing, kissing, rock music. My friends sometimes call me the SK. I love cooking and throwing dinner parties especially if there is a theme involved. I'm crafty and like to make things. I'm random and enjoy thought provoking conversations. I like to laugh and think about the 'what ifs' in life. I like to rock out to 80's music and dance like an idiot. I enjoy wearing bright colored shoes and red pants. I love horror movies. I love retro things and black and white photos. I have a monroe piercing. I like to inspire people and also reflect on what importance they bring to my life. I'm left handed, and I'm smart. I went to grad school for physiology and I'm a certified athletic trainer. Oh and I get to teach sex ed this year...how cool is that?

My Interests

Many many things. Several important ones come to mind. Procrastination, Laughing/Smiling, Writing- esp poetry, Reading- poetry/short stories, Going for coffee, Deep conversations, Nature, Trail Running/Hiking, Running around in the rain, Music, Cooking, Making a fool of myself. The list goes on forever...

I'd like to meet:

Non jerks. Intellectual people with wit and sarcasm and beautiful personalities. Though being a cool person helps too. Skinny white boys that are alternative and men with tattoos.John Bongiovi, William Michael Albert Broad (Billy Idol) or people that look like him lol, Conan O'brien

Music:

Rock, Alternative, Punk, 80's and 90's music, and Oldies!!!Some of my favorite bands: AFI, Rise Against, State Radio, Damien Rice, Lola Ray, Papa Roach, Smile Empty Soul, Gob, Rancid, Theory of a Deadman, Sevendust, Sublime, Goo Goo Dolls, Green Day, Mest, Blessid Union of Souls, Billy Idol, Bon Jovi, Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Refreshments, Lost Prophets, Midtown, Riddlin Kids, 3 Days Grace, Everlast, Phil Collins, Run DMC, Sugar Hill Gang, Michael Jackson, Joan Jett, Cyndi Lauper, Jack Johnson, Bryan Adams, Tom Petty, Postal Service and Plain White T's, and many more talented artists

Movies:

Remember I said I love the 80's? Well, my two favorite movies are The Breakfast Club, Back to the Future Trilogy...but we can't rule out Vegas Vacation, Office Space, Napoleon Dynamite, Sweet Home Alabama, SLC punk, Coyote Ugly, Grease, Dirty Dancing, Eurotrip, A walk to remember, A League of Their Own, Sandlot, Cool Runnings, Empire Records, Swing Kids, Encino Man, Forever Young, Silence of the Lambs, Saw. Not a big television fan...though I do enjoy it on occasion. Reno 911, Conan O'brien, King of Queens, Sex and the City, Jay Leno, SNL, Everybody loves Raymond, Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, and anything on the food network...honestly though I'd rather spend my time working out, cooking, reading or being online.

Books:

I just bought a collection of works by Darwin, and I'm looking forward to reading them. I like reading things that make me think. Stories that cause me to be empathetic. That is how I know if a book is good, does it give me the chills after reading it? Do I want to cry? Can I see myself in that person's shoes? Am I left with that feeling of nausea in my stomach after reading about tragedy? Some of my favorite stuff in the past has been short stories by Jack London, Plays by Arthur Miller, Poems by Robert Frost, Books by HTD and Ralph Waldo EmersonMy favorite quote by Robert Frost: "And were an epitaph to be my story I'd have a short one ready for my own. I would have written of me on my stone: I had a lover's quarrel with the world."I wish that I had that talent...
