I find it difficult to wrap myself up in a few simple statements as what is being demanded on our computer screens, but I shall give it a shot.
I am the third out of four children that emerged from my mother in the lucille ball filled city known as Jamestown NY. I have only been able to reach Edinboro PA as an escape, but soon it shall be further than that.
I am a GRADUATE of Edinboro University of Pennsylvania located in the small borough of Edinboro Pennsylvania. I recieved two undergraduate degrees, Bachelors of Fine Arts in Applied Media Arts concentration in Photography (requirements completed as of May 2007) and Bachelors of Fine Arts in Fine Arts and Crafts concentration in Wood and Furniture Design. I have also completed minors in History and Sociology.
In photography, I work in the techniques of traditional and historical processes and despise digital photography as a form of fine art. I find digital use helpful as an aide, but as a final result, I feel the quality is lacking. I specialize in polaroid lifts and transfers, traditional Chromogenic processing, traditional black and white processing. I also have experience in wet plate collodion.
In Wood and Furniture Design, I have become heavily influenced by the design work of Frank Lloyd Wright in such aspects of Fallingwater. I pretty much stick to my Arts and Crafts style furniture when I design and build wit a spin of thomas moser influence as well as influence from the mission style in design. My website will soon showcase some of the work.
Ultimately, I would really like to live in a metropolis setting such as Chicago IL or New York City, NY. I would really like to teach photography at the higher education level as well as still learn about it.
And for those of you who dont know...I did get a tattoo. It is a twinlens camera which I used to shoot my final portfolio of self-portraits in my Undergrad. It is on my left arm. Mike Kloss did it at Karma Tattoo, and the reason why I got it...well photography is my first passion, so why not make it my first tattoo.
