Influences: Louis' experience with performing so many styles of music over the years has enabled him to "Cross-Pollenate" them all into an emotionally charged sound. Reviewers have commented on his sonic and physical ability to "pull a listener into a musical trance". His aptitude to demonstrate "excitingly soaring solos" and the discipline to "lay back and groove" has given him the respect of bandmates since the beginning of his musical career.WORK HISTORYHILARY DUFF’S current release on Hollywood Rec’s. 2004Lead Guitarist for TERENCE TRENT D’ARBY 1993- 2002 1993 "Symphony or Damned" World Tour,94-95 Record "Vibrator" & follow with World Tour also record songs for soundtracks "THE FAN" , "READY TO WEAR" & "NIKE" SUPERBOWL commercial, Christmas Concert at the Vatican for Pope John Paul II 2001STANLEY CLARKE (animated series) W.B." Sounds Like: THE LOUIS METOYER BANDis a recently formed band that has taken a year to ferment. Interestingly though, Louis has helped define the sound of many Multi-Platinum recording artists for many years, and until recently, has taken the time to record and perform all the music floating in his head. Either sharing the stage as sideman or studio guitarist for such artists as: “4-NON-BLONDES”, “MACY GRAY”, “HILARY DUFF” , ”TERENCE TRENT D’ARBY” , “BELINDA CARLISLE” , “ LENNY KRAVITZ” , “STANLEY CLARKE” and many more, you may have heard him, but didn’t even know who you were listening to. Between festivals, concert performances and television appearances around the world for millions of viewers, many have tried to imitate his delivery, but none come close. When Louis performs, he leaves no musical stone unturned. Having performed for so many artists of different genres, he has managed to cultivate a high energy sound that works no matter what style of music he’s addressing at the time. But now with his original band, he’s able to take the listener on a musical journey that’s equal to none and bring your ears home with their passport completely stamped. One listener was heard saying that “If Hendrix were alive today, he would be sitting in the front row of a Louis Metoyer concert”. Musicians and music lovers are equally amazed at Louis’ sonic surprises because, “you just don’t know what he’ll do next”. And give him plenty of room to move around because entertaining is a life force to him. Even his rock n roll arrangements of Christmas songs will make you think you’re hearing them for the first time. And what does Louis have to say about all this? “ I’m very proud to have the opportunity to perform for everyone.” And we’re glad he does. All of these musical atmospheres couldn’t be performed by one man alone and that’s where the “band” comes into play. Louis is joined on stage by some very flavorful musicians. On drums and background vocals is Matt Oloffson. He provides a thunderous foundation that is rock solid in every way and leaves you wondering why everyone else isn’t as expressive on the drums. His statements pack a huge punch. Next, you have Gary Raymond on bass bringing nimble fingers and melodic counterparts into play making it sound as though more than 3 instruments are performing at once to make this locomotive roar down the tracks on time. And last but certainly not least, they are joined on stage by the lovely Maria Madero who sings harmonies and plays percussion while dancing around to the music. Maria makes it look easy, but it isn’t. If you get to see the Louis Metoyer Band perform in Los Angeles, you’ll be participating in their “Concert in a Club” theory offering “Pure Sonic Therapy” to everyone in attendance.
