About Me

After 3 years at the University of Birmingham studying for my degree in ancient history, I have moved onto great things, none of which I can name because they are all completely fictional. I usually fill my days looking for jobs which is perhaps the most soul destroying processes I have ever experienced. I also work in Liverpool museum a lot as a volunteer in the fairly desperate hope that they will start giving me money for my obvious talents as a potential curator extrodinaire (like Indiana Jones but clumsy and shy). Speaking of clumsy I have started trying to play capoeira fairly recently which has turned out to be great fun and also kind of embarrassing. When I develop a sense of rhythm, balance and poise I'm sure it will start becoming much easier. I also love my music, especially ska and indy/rock stuff, which severely limits the shapes I can bust out on a dance floor (everything becomes a skanking motion). So in conclusion, I like old things and i fall down a lot, go me!

My Interests

Now I have out grown my angry grunge stage I enjoy music of an indy or ska styling. Still love RATM though. I like to play the guitar/bass. I'm not very good but good enough to play loudly when no one is watching. Oh yeah, after 12 grand of tuition fees i can now read hieroglyphs (which is actually less useful than you may think.). I think that counts as an interest anyways, if not it was money well spent. Oh yeah I like to cook and bake on a scale some would call unnatural.

I'd like to meet:

Steven Fry (the ultimate dinner guest...ever), Anthony Stuart "The Head" Head, Gimli, Bill Bailey, Eddie Izzard, Dylan Moran, Panthro, he puts the "T" in Thundercats, Harold Bishop,

adopt your own virtual pet!

Music:

I like Indy, Erik Mongrain for example, classic rock like Hendrix, Led Zepplin etc, bluesy stuff like Louisiana Red, Nina Simone and Muddy Waters. I'm also into ska punk stuff such as 360, The Cat Empire, Reel Big Fish, Less than Jake and so on and so forth. (Now I have written this people can buy me CDs at will)

Movies:

I love Garden State, Zach Braff is a genius. The Motorcycle Diaries was awesome too (who can argue with a team of footballing lepers?), as was Lost in Translation. Sideways was good fun, as was The Life Aquatic. Anything by Tim Burton turns out amazingly. I could go on but it would take days of my life.

Television:

Meh, TV these days is like looking through the window of a chav's house and as a result is something I do sparingly. When I do partake its usually of a comedic nature, like spaceghost from coast to coast, the mighty boosh or anything that makes me giggle deep down.

Books:

I love to read escapist trash. Its my guilty little secret, as a graduate I should continue reading the works of Thucydides and Xenophon, but find myself compelled to stay away from them.

Heroes:

Hitler, only joking. Erm, I think maybe from my little bubble of an existence, Ian, Rob and Sam for being my private drunken demi-gods and special mention goes to little whitbread for showing the warwick real ale society how its done! From a more inventive spectrum probably your mum for satisfying my needs, yes, your mum.
