It all started in Brussels in 2005 when Anthony Klein (vocals, guitar) and Remy Lebbos (guitar) met each other via a musical website and began to play music together. Anthony's drummer mate Alain Kupchik was also part of what was still called a project. A room, a computer and a bunch of instruments would then allow them to record a few songs without being totally satisfied with the result. Taking advantage of the application’s deadline for the Verdur Rock contest in April 2006, they wrote and recorded their first demo in three weeks time. The line-up expanded to include Dan Klein (guitar) and Bartolomeo La Punzina (Bass) and a band’s name was chosen: Talkshop was born. Things went then quite quickly: Talkshop won the contest, meanwhile, their song “Mankind†got aired on the Belgian radio station Pure fm. A few weeks later, Belgian rock band Soulwax noticed them and chose their song “Ride this horse†as rock act for the international contest “Diesel-U-Musicâ€. Since then, the band performed on several stages (Le Botanique, Fêtes de Wallonie, Nuit Blanche, L’Entrepôt, La Maison des Musiques, …). Recently, Alain Kupchik left the band and was replaced by Chritophe Remy.
Talkshop’s music can be described as a compromise between energy and melancholy. Sharp guitars with grunge sonorities rub elbows with strong melodies.
