Daryl Hall - solo

Known as "the other half" of Hall & Oates but very much a solo artist in his own right. His first foray into the music world as a solo artist began with the highly acclaimed collaboration with the very ecclectic Mr. Robert Fripp resulting in SACRED SONGS (1980). This first release was hidden in a record company vault for a number of years. It was a travesty that an album with this blend of genius from Fripp and the "perfect pitch" of Daryl's pipes should languish under lock and key by a record company too afraid to rock the "rock n soul" boat for the successful duo of H&O.A temporary break from H&O saw the release of Daryl's second solo album "THREE HEARTS IN A HAPPY ENDING MACHINE" (1986). An album very much a sign of its times and leaning towards the rock more than the soul.It would be 7 years before another solo release and it came when the Acid Jazz scene was hitting London - "SOUL ALONE" (1993). It was a brilliant contrast of soul and jazz, demonstrating his ability to meld his roots with what was current.3 years later he released "CAN'T STOP DREAMING"- a beautifully crafted soul album of self penned songs.
