Leave any preconceived ideas you may have formed at the door, as Tiger!Tiger! climbs its way into the hearts and minds of an unsuspecting crowd. A poetic flow of words painting a vibrant picture of what a ruined society could restore itself to. Music to form a common thread in our beliefs and ideas, and to unite us as one. A voice to speak out loudly against the oppression of those following their hearts in a time that has proven so dark.
The band began as a side-project when vocalist/guitarist Scott Nelson was in his old band, Tips. When Tips broke up, Scott began to pursue Tiger! Tiger! Full time. Shortly after, Brian Duvall had joined as second guitarist that November. From there Scott and Brian were to sit down and write the material that would make up their first EP, The Law of the Jungle. Recorded in Chicago, IL at Sentient Studio, the band had various friends from around the scene help them record the parts that they couldn’t play themselves and also fill-in live for some local shows.
With the new material written, Tiger!Tiger! was as anxious to begin playing for people as they were to hear the music in an area where unique was such a difficult word to come by. Tiger!Tiger! would soon begin its search for the remaining members.
A temporary bass role was offered to be filled by James Tuthill, but soon after performing, a revitalizing chemistry was discovered between the three musicians, and James Tuthill would go on to fill the role as full-time bassist for Tiger!Tiger!
“In a time where so many bands focus on image, we try to let the music speak for itself. We try and promote thinking for yourself and not necessarily giving in to what society deems "the norm" or "cool".†These words were spoken by lead vocalist/guitarist Scott Nelson and Tiger!Tiger! has plans to continue to go on doing just that. Finally a statement is made of a failing system, a statement that our youth can easily relate to. More and more everyday the people that actually care get thrown aside while the power hungry elite do whatever it takes to rise to the top. But what is going to happen when those that actually care get sick of being thrown to the curb? Enough backing down, it is time for people like you and us to take a stand. Tiger! Tiger! is more than a band, it's a statement against what society and this world are coming to. Will you be a part of the movement? .
