Deathrock/GothPunk Ikon PATRIK MATA was recently interviewed by British author
MIKEY BEANfor his soon-to-be-classic book called "PHANTOMS: THE RISE OF
DEATHROCK FROM THE LA PUNK SCENE". This book will be the only detailed
chronicle of how the original Deathrock movement began from the ashes of the LA
Punk Rock scene dating back from 1979 to the present. KOMMUNITY FK was founded
by Patrik Mata in 1978 becoming 1 of the Deathrock/GothikPunk movement's
founders alongside other such greats as 45 Grave & Christian Death. Patrik
spent several hours in Hollywood, California recently with Mikey discussing
memories & sharing stories most of which will make for most probably the best
account of the then incredible decade for original fashion statements, musical
performances, & strange kamaraderies that are now known as the Deathrock genre.
Read where it all began in this upcoming oracle extravaganza starring all of

PATRIK MATA/KOMMUNITY FK SIGNS WITH INVISIBLE RECORDS-OFFICIAL PRESS RELEASE
Legendary composer/shapeshifter/vocalist/multi-instrumentalist & Deathrock/Gothik Ikon PATRIK MATA has signed a historic 7-year recording/licensing deal with the landmark Industrial record label INVISIBLE RECORDS.
PATRIK MATA's legendary musikal concept, KOMMUNITY FK, which he founded back in 1979, will now be releasing it's entire back catalog of live performances, his debut solo album, as well as a long-awaited brand new full-length album entitled, "MYSTIKA, MYSTERIA, MAXIMA." There will be several remix versions of his classic works performed by MARTIN ATKINS & a cast of other well-known rock icons which will be disclosed nearer to his projects' release dates. Tour dates will be scheduled along with these releases.
PATRIK MATA's alter-ego band, TEXYLVANIA , has also signed on for their debut releases of 2 EPs, "SLUT NATION," "GUTTERATI," & a full-length album, "TEXYLVANIA 13." This band features KOMMUNITY FK's lead guitarist/synth player/chanteuse, SHERRY RUBBER, as it's frontwoman/vocalist/composer/lead guitarist with PATRIK playing rhythm guitar/vocals/composer. Tour dates will also be scheduled.

Back in the pre-Goth days & during the trailblazing
beginnings of Deathrock subculture, Patrik Mata's
legendary group, KOMMUNITY FK, had the honor &
pleasure to perform second billing to England's
KILLING JOKE. This historic show occured on August
28th, 1981 at The Whiskey A-Go-Go. The rest is now
history for both iconic bands whose sounds are
considered as founding leaders & inspirations of both
the Deathrock & Gothic movement.
Recently, the Killing Joke bassist who replaced the OG
bass player called Youth, has passed away. PAUL RAVEN
had been a mainstay for the band for over a decade
bludgeoning every track & performance with his heavy
bass sound. Paul Raven was also well known
for playing bass and writing with Ministry.
He had even designed his own bass & guitar
pedal called "
RAVEN
". He was so proud of this
accomplishment as if it were a brand new baby.In many
ways, it was. He took the time & effort to make sure
that the pedal sounds exactly as he wanted it to.
To show our respects for him, we here at KOMMUNITY FK

Patrik Mata of Kommunity FK was at the Henry Fonda Theatre in Los Angeles, California on Friday, April 13, 2007 paying tribute to his long lost friend Rozz Williams. Patrik was given tickets/VIP passes by Eva O and Rikk Agnew.
Patrik's record label Invisible Records agreed that Patrik should be a part of the 10-year memory of Rozz and supported Patrik on his appearance in Los Angeles.
Surviving members of Rozz William's Christian Death first full length recording "Only Theatre of Pain" reunited as CHRISTIAN DEATH 1334 and performed the album in its entirety.
It only seems like yesterday that Patrik Mata and Sherry Rubber were in the middle of a Kommunity FK rehearsal based in Hollywood when the phone rang and they were told the tragic news Rozz had left us. Patrik was honored to be a speaker at Rozz's memorial held at the El Rey Theater.
To this day we here at the Kommunity Fk Kontingent all miss Rozz very much and hope he is creatively happy in a better place.
Pictured here is Patrik Mata receiving his copy of Ed Colver's new publication backstage at the Christian Death 1334 show just after Patrik got off stage reminding the fans why all were gathered.
The new book by Mr. Colver not only was premiered in Hollywood, but is now on Madison Avenue in N.Y.C. Within it's pages not only will you find a classik photo of Patrik, but within the discography section you will find both Patrik Mata and Sherry Rubber's separate former projects listed as well.

This rare KOMMUNITY FK footage was shot at "The World" in Hollywood, CA. 1997. This was Sherry Rubber's second show as Kommunity FK's lead guitarist.
This particular Kommunity FK show was performed for Patrik's long time friend's wake. Erik Pariedes' (RIP) left us for the "Otherworld" in 1997. This show included Rozz's band and Gitane's band as co-headliners. The end of the night Patrik and Sherry were joined by Rozz and Gitane on stage to all sing a farwell Virgin Prunes song to their lost friend.
