..I am fun plain and simple. I have degrees in psychology and philosophy with lots of minors and almost minors. Can anyone say avoiding the real world way too long. Life is long, it's important to experience as much as possible. I am not sure for what I'll be going to school next after 11 years of undergraduate studies and a total of over 190 credits. They started charging me extra, so I graduated. I have considered going to culinary school or maybe simply get my sommelier's certificate which would help me pay for graduate school for cognitive psychology. In the mean time I am preparing for the advanced exam from the Wine and Spirits Education Trust out of the UK. I would enjoy being a personal chef for a while, too. I know I like people and food/wine. To be able to combine them in a satisfying and lucrative way would be ideal. Hell, I might just open a Fine Cheese and Wine Shop in a city such as Vancouver or San Francisco. The idea of being a professor and researcher has always appealed to me. Maybe I'll try out for next years next food network star show. The point is that I'll probably not know what i am going to do next until i do it. I hope very much that the next step will come in Vancouver. To pay the bills I am a server and wine steward at a local restaurant. Wine is a passion of mine. This is another aspect of my life that requires continuous experience.I love to travel and meet new people. I often travel alone and find it very rewarding, at times more rewarding than traveling with others. I tend to meet more new and interesting people and have more and more interesting conversations that way. A downside is I tend to miss the zoo, boardwalk, giant ball o' string etc.I am in constant search for new people from whom to learn and people with whom I share at least one or two of my most strongly held passions.

What is Your Personality Profile?
You are an Executive! Executives put a lot of effort and enthusiasm into their relationships. Since their major goal in life is to constantly take in knowledge and turn that into something useful, the executive will try to turn every situation into a learning experience. With respect to relationships, that means they will constantly seek knowledge and fine-tune the rules and definitions of their relationships. They value relationships highly, especially those that present them with new challenges and stimulate their learning. Such exchanges promote affection and satisfaction for the executive. Relationships which do not offer any chances for growth or learning do not interest the executive. As in other areas of life, the executive likes to be in charge of relationships. In conversation, they are usually very direct and confrontational, and can be highly critical and challenging of others. People involved in close relationships with executives need to have a good amount of personal strength. For those who do, the executive has a lot to offer. They are naturally compatible with: thinkers and mechanics.

My Interests

As I mentioned above I have a passion for wine. I also like to keep up with the good movies that come out. I watch some sports on occasion and love attending live events of any kind. My main interest, being the social creature that I am, is people. I really enjoy cooking as well. I have learned a whole lot and have dinner parties fairly often. I like all kinds of food from fried chicken to foie gras. I have recently become interested in making my own candles. I know it sounds ghey, but it's fun and those things are so damn expensive. And needless to say, ambiance is key. Over the last six months or so I have become interested in the stock market, also. I used to think it was so boring, but it is actually pretty cool. I am just learning right now and plan to really start investing soon. For now I just play a stock game. I am doing pretty well. I have to give props to my friend Mary, who keeps me entertained rather often, also.

I'd like to meet:

I'd love to sit down and chat with Barack Obama, and I would like to have a few drinks and some words with Gordon Ramsey. I think Anthony Bordain and I could have some good conversation and perhaps some alcohol induced innard eating. Mostly, famous people bore me, except the newly famous and the sexy. As far as the rest, I am interested in people who are interesting, perceptive, and curious and other descriptive words...

Music:

My music tastes are rather eclectic. I like most music from times past to present. I am not a fan of country music, with few exceptions. I have recently discovered that many songs that I enjoy actually come from musicals---of course making me even more gay than I had originally realized... id="MediaPlayer" width="300" height="300" .. standby="Loading Windows Media Player components..." Movies:

Some of the best movies ever are Pulp Fiction, Triumph Insult Comedy Dog DVD, Batman (the original with Michael Keaton, he rocks--Multiplicity always makes me laugh), Good Will Hunting, Rushmore, Meet Joe Black, Seven, The Lost Boys, The Truman Show, The Abyss, Napoleon Dynamite (and if you don't like it, kiss my ass, the shit is funny), It's My Party, Scent of a Woman, Pretty Woman, Chicago, Jerry Mcguire, The Talented Mr. Ripley, American Beauty, Patch Adams, 25th Hour, Cowboys & Angels, Mostly Martha, Goodfellas, Forrest Gump, and the most shocking/brilliant/need to be open minded or gay movie is one of Pedro Almodovar's best- Bad Education--That man is crazy wicked brilliant.

Television:

I have my favorite shows. Mostly I enjoy intelligent/political comedy like Bill Maher, Jon Stewart, or D.L. Hugley. Lovin' Weeds and Barber Shop on Showtime and can't wait for the new episodes of Boston Legal. David E. Kelly and I have always been tight. The foodnetwork is usually on the tube at my house. Anything else is mostly background. And my guilty pleasures are Smallville and Justice League.

Books:

I am really not much of a reader. I tend to read mostly non-fiction or philosophy. I like to learn things. I don't usually read for pleasure, besides the pleasure of learning, of course. I have been known to buy text books for classes that I don't feel I have to patience to take. Jim Cramer's Real Money: Insane Investing in an Insane World is brilliant. Shit Jim Cramer is brilliant. I love cookbooks, too. I subscribe to three magazines all of which I think are great from front to back, Details, Cuisine at Home (cooking mag with no adverts), and Out (GQ for gay guys . . . or wait, GQ is GQ for gay guys.)

Heroes:

The question of heroes has always escaped me. I can't say I have ever had a hero, even as a kid. I also don't believe that anyone really has all their shit together despite unique or amazing accomplishments. In other words, no one is really better than anyone else.

Time is not of the essence

I think that one of the worst things that people do in this life is live by a time clock.  We are led to believe in this country that one has to accomplish certain things by a certain time. ...

It seems fitting . . .

It seems fitting that the first entry in my blog be about the grasp that myspace has on me.  At first I fought the temptation, but now I have decided to simply succumb to my addiction.  Yeah...
