About Me

"Everything that is done in the world is done by hope. No merchant or tradesman would set himself to work if he did not hope to reap benefit thereby" -Martin Luther King..................Born and Raised in Houston TX.....Served in the Navy working on F-14 fighter jets. I was stationed with a sqaudron at Miramar in San Diego and been around the world on deployment. Mostly Asia, but I've also been to South America and Africa. I was Texas proud... but when I got out(One day before the first gulf war) I decided Southern California was a better fit and so was living by the beach.(After sailing the world) I was offerd a decent paying job to work on TOPGUNS jets as a civilian. After 5 years that changed. The Navy moved from Miramar.Always sparred in Boxing and played with gloves hoping to get my fathers attention as a child.(He was never really in my life)I took up Kenpo karate in order to do something with my girlfriend(At the time)to get closer and grow. But I had always felt the ring calling me.I soon did Muay thai kickboxing and became hooked(It was an outlet and I made my opponents pay).I won the I.A.M.T.F California title by KO and The Western United States title because my opponent backed out. That was kinda semi pro and couldn't get no more fights. Had a falling out with my trainor because I try to be a man of Integrity and I had to turn pro on my own.I fought for the U.S title 3 times when I got a good manager(John Mcphail) who got me some good training. We named him A.K.A John King(Don King). I received a draw the first time ...Thought... I won a close dec on the sec and lost the last one by dec.Good fights but I got bloody on the last one... even though I rallied a lil to late at the end.I'm not gonna bullshit ya and say I was the best but I was very well respected and my opponents knew... win or lose ,..if the fight went the distance they were gonna be hurtin somewhere because I was a bruiser and I had a strong chin.I still train but not as hard and I get called to spar with pro boxers sometimes.I mostly teach a few kids who are getting big and pretty good. I wanna leave this sport better then when I discoverd it and... I now get my wins through my students. Its not as glorius as before, but I'm still respected by the fight community who knows me and that helps with the bitter taste.Well at least a lil bit.But I was true to myself no matter what road I took... and a true champion should have integrity first.I was a nice guy and people took advatage of me because of it.Unless you talked smack to me in the ring which only one idiot did and I ended that one early.....Maybe too early.(I Shoulda punished him)I was an older fighter.... so they knew my time was limited and only used me because I drew a crowd and put up a good fight.I believe 2 out of the 3 U.S title fights coulda gone either way and I rallied too late in the last one and the blood from my nose made it look worse then it really was.It was a good fight and he deserved it.He's a good champion. We still talk every once inawhile and its not that I mind losing but I'm glad it was him if anyone. He's very good. I think he's knocked out everyone except me and One other guy.Guess I can live with it.I was a real contender.....Not a pre..tender.I may of lost but I was NEVER beaten.True fighters will know what I'm talkin about.".. unless you are resilient enough to follow your morals and heart. If you cannot be in control, then at least be the one with the clearest conscience. The purpose of life is to discover your gift. The meaning of life is to give your gift away." -David Viscott)If I had taken the path with no integrity I would be living a lie and thats not me. I couldn't live with that.If you don't understand then read the headline again. It goes"In the End..each of us will be judged by our standard of life, not by our standard of living" It was not always plain to me that pursuing God’s glory would be virtually the same as pursuing my joy. Now I see that millions of people waste their lives because they think these paths are two and not one. Eventually all the pieces fall into place, until then, laugh at the confusion, live for the moment, and know that everything happens for a reason.""THE HIGHEST REWARD FOR YOUR WORK IS NOT WHAT YOU GET FOR IT, BUT WHAT YOU BECOME BY IT."- JOHN C. MAXWELL
