About Me

Third Strike. The name means something different to each member of the band: all three of us! We're not baseball players, nor are we bowlers, but we've all been in the game for awhile. Our individual musical influences are quite diverse and it's hard to pin down a specific genre that would define what we do, and how we do it. Some have called us "Motley Crue mixed up in a big bowl of Iron Maiden, with a side of AC/DC." This could be an accurate description, but it doesn't tell the whole story. At one time we'd all met up in another local band, but decided shortly thereafter, we were ready to do something else, so we plundered a few songs for a setlist and destroyed them. Once we added new songs to the mix we'd discovered a dichotomy which needed to be remedied: we wanted to create a common link between the classic and current... equal opportunity corruption! From this point we made it a goal to be "that" band. "That" band who played things a little differently. "That" band who wasn't afraid to test new waters, while simulaneously drinking from the stagnant fountain of traditional bar tune schlock, hoping that by spitting in water, it would freshen it up! "That" band whose original music didn't sound completely like the songs and bands they were covering. We wanted to be "THAT" band! In many respects we are, but we're still developing: style, sound, structure. We're loud and have been known to rattle a few cages here and there, but we're humble, down-to-Earth dudes, who love what we do and who we do it for. Our fans are the best: rowdy, raucous, rambunctious... and above all: loyal! We love every one of 'em, and they help to define how we do what we do. Our home base is Grand Rapids, but of late Muskegon and the surrounding areas have become the latest snakepit(s)... feeling that West Coast vibe! We're proud of what we do, but not too proud to give back to the people. We've done, and continue to do many benefits. We've also been known to pop in and do a free show on occasion as well... as long as there's cold beverage to be had! All in all, if Third Strike was to be summed up simply, well... our slogan really says it all: "Rock N' Roll... With A BITE!" When people ask us what we mean by "With A BITE!" it's hard to put it into specific words... it's best we let the music, and the fans explain things! AAARR!!! We're the band your mother warned you about!

Sounds Like: Our covers include a little something to please any taste: from The Rolling Stones all the way to Slayer... and everything in between. '80s,'90s and newly released tunage that no one else is is even attempting! One of the biggest things that makes us different is our setlists are formed on the site- meaning we look at our crowd before we write down the first song. After that, our list is driven in whatever direction the crowd decides to head. Whether we're hitting the hard stuff or taking it a little "easy" on everyone, the music is guaranteed to have the unique bite and that extra punch we add to everything we play...... and we have fun doing it, arrrrr!!! Our full setlist is too large to actually post on this page, but if you need 1 contact us and we'll be glad to drop one off, or e-mail it to you. contact: Jonny, jr.-(616)459-0650 Sean-(616)262-5421
