My music is a pretty big part of my life. If I ever took a survey to determine the things I would need to survive on a deserted island, clothes would be pretty much out the window - but I think an iPod would make the top of the list. I have close friends that I've maintained since high school and college. I've been in Georgia since 2002. First Savannah, now Atlanta. I moved here in Oct. 2004 and there's still so much to see. One of the things I'm enjoying right now is learning my way around and being introduced to new restaurants, new clubs, new friends. In my free time - when I'm not sucked in by myspace, I can be found walking my brittany spaniel, hanging out in midtown, or hanging out where I hang my hat - Alpharetta. Northern Virginia will always be my home - but I'm proud to say that I'm now a resident of Atlanta.
There is a certain someone in the world who has captured my heart like no other. When I think of our first meeting, I want to hold onto that first moment for as long as I possibly can. When I replay the movie in my mind, I want time to slow down, so I can savor every second that passes. I have dreamed it a thousand times, and with every scenario I imagine, it couldn't possibly compare to the reality that awaits us. For all that we have invested, for all that has challenged us and we have struggled with, for everything that we have built, and for everything that will come to be. This is the one true thing in my life that I know is worth fighting for. She is my shining star, and I wait patiently for that star to find me, when she is ready....and able.....and i bet she can kiss me just like this:
Can't live without my iPod, my XM, nor my 99X (wink wink). XM usually remains on Ethel, but has been known to skip over to the Joint. Music interests include great club varieties like trance and classic hip hop. In the car or on the go it's Thievery Corporation, 311, Gorillaz, Gorillaz vs. Spacemonkeyz (nearly wore this one out), Kaskade, Oasis, U2, Killers, White Stripes, Verve, Pixies, Massive Attack, Depeche Mode, Beck, Franz Ferdinand, Weekend Players, Anthony Hamilton, John Legend, De la Soul, Interpol, Snow Patrol, Modest Mouse, Fischerspooner, Smashing Pumpkins, Moby, Ben Harper, John Coltraine, Johnny Cash, Sneaker Pimps, Radiohead, Frank Sinatra, Nat King Cole, Bob Marley, Crystal Method, Portishead, Daft Punk, Chemical Brothers, Sarah McLaghlan, Jimi Hendrix, Pearl Jam, Beastie Boys, VHS or Beta, Alice In Chains, Stone Temple Pilots, Train, The Beatles, Sly and the Family Stone, The New Pornographers, Stereophonic, The Bravery, Parliament Funkadelic, G Love and Special Sauce, Nick Drake, Jeff Buckley, Tom Petty, John Mayer, Dave Matthews Band, Lenny Kravitz, Peter Gabriel, Jack Johnson, Sade, Maxwell, Coldplay, Benny Benassi, and the list goes on and on...

trendy stuff like nip/tuck, 24, and lost - which at the moment btw i'm totally addicted to. i recently acquired all of the 2nd season in divx format. :-) i drifted off of sopranos and rescue me - tv shows tend to just get too weird after they've been on for more than a few seasons. i also like stuff that feeds my geeky, need-to-know side like mythbusters, extreme engineering, or stuff on the history channel. i'm a gearhead, so i get easily sucked in by overhaulin' (chip foose is the MAN) or some home improvement shows. other than that, the only time the tv's really on is for a movie, game or the news. in rereading this section i make it sound like all i do is watch tv - but please believe me, i actually have a life!
I get teased for being a big catalog shopper. My reading seems to consist of thumbing through furniture catalogs. Seems I'm on everyone's mailing list. For news, I'm mostly a magazine reader, but when I travel or if I'm on vacation I'll try to relax long enough to read a book. I mostly get drawn into coffee table books on architecture where I'm inclined to spend hundreds of thousands on a dream condo. I'm actually shopping for an industrial style loft at present, so I'm constantly looking for ideas and inspiration. Perhaps obsessively so. As for what I've read and enjoyed, it would be a long list. For now I'll just stick to my last read, which was "The World is Flat" by Thomas Friedman.
First and foremost, my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, with whom I seek to improve my relationship. Some heroes of my lifetime: Mark Bingham, Todd Beamer (Let's Roll!), Jeremy Glick, Tom Burnett, Lou Nacke, Donald F. Greene, Sandy Bradshaw, and Linda Gronlund. Any and all firefighters, police, and civilians who participated in rescue efforts on 9/11/01. Former mayor of New York, Rudy Guiliani. Our nation's freedom fighters, for some know not exactly what we're fighting for.
