About Me

Cosmic Force is a long time player in the worldwide Electro scene. Not an artist who transformed from one sound to another, he's one of Electro's originals ! Like so many kids of the 80's, Cosmic Force was influenced by the emergent street culture of New York, especially the Electrofunk movement of Hip Hop. Cosmic Force expanded his musical tastes with the more experimental music of Pierre Henri, Oscar Sala and Kraftwerk. After playing around with tape recorders and borrowed turntables, CF started his musical experimentation for real when he started buying modular systems and really morphing the sounds he had. Once alerted to music making potential and an immersion in Syntheresized music, He then started his collection of original analog synths and along with his 808, created his own brand of street tuff Electro. Picked up by CLONE RECORDS when they first launched after hearing just a couple of his tunes, Cosmic Force released many classic trax on this world renowned label before setting up his own much celebrated label, MARGUERITA RECORDINGS and releasing his own material alongside the likes of DETROIT IN EFFECT and E8. Not just a solo artist, Cosmic Force has collaborated with the likes of Dexter, E8, Random XS and AUX88's Keith Tucker to expand his brand of Electro and morph his style with that of others to create original recordings from a shared mind space. With regular live gigs in his home country of The Netherlands and his own monthly Club Marguerita in Utrecht, Cosmic Force continues to rock sound systems around the globe in such places as Belgium, Germany, England, Scotland, Sweden, Spain, Miami and a prestigious appearance at Detroit's FUSE-IN festival. With a growing roster of Artists joining MARGUERITA and continued output including a new and continuing ACID project with Club 030303, COSMIC FORCE continues to deliver quality recordings of his own no nonsense Electro, Ass kickin live sets and a rammed club night.Next Club Marguerita !.....OKTOBER 26 U better don't miss this one!!! The Black Lodge en Full Spectrum op zaterdag 1 september
2007 het Outhouse festival.
De insteek van Outhouse is om een paar heel goede artiesten uit te
nodigen die lekker de ruimte krijgen in het wonderschone
openluchttheater Cabrio. Verdeeld over twee areas betekent dat een
dag vol warme techno, house, electro en minimal middenin de bosrijke
entourage van de Soester Duinen.
Vanaf 14.00 in de middag tot 24.00 in de nacht kun je terecht in het
tussen Soest en Soestduinen gelegen openluchttheater. Dat betekent
dus in 10 uur tijd ruim baan voor 6 artiesten. Toch een aanzienlijk
contrast met een hoop overgeboekte festivals. Voor de entreeprijs van
slechts vijftien euro in de voorverkoop hoef je het in ieder geval niet te
laten…

"Bass Drum Kix" ..."and you know it's time!" He aint joking ! BOOM ! Ruff tough beats straight from the streets and taking no prisoners. With low and dirty vocals over grinding synths held together by those rather large 808 beats, this is a tune that can't be ignored.

"Break It All Down" . Massive, pulsing analogness and concrete shattering drums in a masterfully engineered tune that cries "OWNIDGE !", put this on yer deck and see the rest wither and fade.

"Hooligan" Expressing the urban frustration and punk attitude of a youth spent spraying graff on walls, breakdancing and looking for the perfect beat in a world seemingly set against you and your kind, where streetknowledge was essential and people played rough...most "Norms" thought us Hooligans.

"U Know Wassup" ..."Calling all you bitches..!" Hoo-wah ! Bring forth the bass ! One for the booty fans amongst us. Showing why he's still around after others have faded, Ben sets the dancefloor afire with this one. A1 - Mike Dred.
A true master of the genre and mover of crowds across the globe, Mike Dred delivers here a drop of pure unadulterated mind blowing acid. With releases on labels such as Rephlex, R & S and Machine Codes, you know this comes with a seal of quality. With a 4/4 kick of near sub bass proportions and only a hint of hi hats, the rhythm is sparse. Add to this his masterful handling of the 303, with tones programed to maximum effect and rising and falling in all the right places....this is an unstoppable monster ! The effects insinuated into the mix make for mind freaking, substance enhancing, soul souring abilities beloved of all true acid house fans. I need say no more !

A2 - Nederzuur.
The acid super group that's wowed crowds with their exclusive, lively and masterful live shows at the 030303 clubs. Comprising of Cosmic Force (marguerita / Clone ) Zero One (Random XS,Djax Up Beats) and Drifter (Drifter TV), this clan of acid lovers deliver tasty, body moving morsels of basslines and deliciously smooth footstomping beats.Having been a purely live experience until now, this is the first chance for those unable to witness the 030303 shows to hear them. Throwing regular dance song structure out of the window, these guys just lock mental frequencies together, stick their heads down and jam the shit outa 303's, 808's and 909's. This is as raw as it gets, an acid lovers dream ! Consisting of the eponymous driving 303 bassline as well as subtle undercurrents and hints of other 303 patterns flowing beneath it insinuating themselves into the deepest reaches of the mind and soul while expertly programed beats infest every muscle with twitches and spasms to make your whole body react. This cut is a look into a crazy acid scientists lab where 3 highly regarded doctors of electronic music muse over the classic acid formulas then hold them to the bunsen burner and watch them go up in flames. They then concoct new, deeper, more complex equations and distill funky fresh tablets of sound previously only available on subscription from the pharmacists that are 030303 and now approved and available through Marguerita Recordings.

B1 - Funckarma.
Not needing much of an introduction, these two brothers of electronic musical mayhem bring their well tuned abilities to the mix in a more serious and slightly darker acid journey. lifting off with harmonic choral vox tones insinuating something lurks beyond the next corner and fat squelching 303's ripple ominousely. jagged, funky beats then breakout to pick those feet up and start you moving. Like something from a scary sci-fi movie, this tune would part of the action sequence where the heroes battle something dark and unknown, with passion and a will to survive against the odds. Frenetic and at times beautiful but always insistant and moving at pace, we haven't heard anything like this in a long time....serious depth and musicality. Almost scary but all the time thrilling.

B2 - Acidwolf.
Blissfully bringing in the bright new season comes another release from Benn Jordan aka Acidwolf. Having released tunes on Alphabasic, Dirty dancing, Metatone and Rephlex, this track is exclusive (is it ?) to Marguerita Recordings on behalf of the 030303 crew. Acidwolf brings us a summery number full of cheeky 303 and groovy licks, promising a clear sky and hot happy days of fun. Understated, pleasant vocodered lyrics add to the acid wobble and perfectly mastered rhythms of the funky drums. A great overdriven acid synth hook, reminiscent of Daft Punk, provides the bit your gona hum to yourself for days after hearing this ! A truly wonderful acid groove out that makes ya wana dance close up with your partner and bring a wide smile to your faces.
A true collection of varied acid flavours provided by an international cast of genre masters brought together by one of the best party crews around, 030303 together with the true, raw music lovers at Marguerita Recordings. This is a must record for DJs to fret over which tune of the four to drop and collectors to savor and play again and again.

Influences:

Cosmic Force made a name in the techno and electro scene in the late and mid 90's with their releases on Clone records. At times most people were into boring house and techno Cosmic Force was dropping some hydraulic electro-techno tracks! These early releases are very rare by now and this inspired Dj Stringray and Cosmic Force to do a special mix album full of rare and deleted Cosmic Force tracks. And of course the official Drexciya Dj Stingray is one of the best dj's to do this job. Rocking Drexciyan inspired electro-techno tracks with bubbling analogue basslines, sharp beats and frantic melodies. Pure and raw sounds that rock hard! It sounds like dancemusic from another world... but it defenitely is from our surface.. and it's here to stay! These tracks, recorded in the mid/late 90's, still sound fresher then most of the electro released today. Trademark Dexter beats and basslines combined with the raw electro energy from Cosmic Force. Sloppenwijk Kont (Ghetto Booty in Dutch) is actually not as ghetto as the title suggest. This is sounds like the 1st 2 Dexter ep's and is funky and sharp like most of his tracks. Baslijn In Opstand is more raw rocking electro techno energy Detroit style. B-side gives us Drum Techniek and Geheugen Meuk which both are rocking techno-funk tracks. Classic stuff. Steady dj tool for the coming months.Cosmic Force was invited to play at the electronic music festival, Fuse-In, Detroit. He played a hard and uncomprimising live set to a more than eager crowd. And now representing for your listening and dancing pleasure, captured live and direct in Detroit a great 5 track ep filled with ruff tough beats with low dirty pitch-shift vocals over grinding synths held together by those rather large 808 beats, these are tracks that just can't be ignored.Crazy stuff again on the ubercool Marguerita label!!! It has been a while since we've heard some really rocking raving acid stuff. It must have been the days of Aphex Twin (Universal Indicator), Kosmik Kommando, Beverly Hills 808303, Unit Moebius and some others in the early/mid 90's (and those records go for 100-200 and even 300 euro on ebay!). This is dark rocking no mercy acid by 4 artists who never sold there 303 to the devil. Mike Dred (Rephlex), Cane (Warp, Skam), Nederzuur (Random xs) and Acidwolf show that it's still fun. Get those smoke machine and strobe lights out of the boxes (put the disco balls in the box) and start having fun.
