I have many things that I love to do, photagraphy, hiking, fishing, fixing engines and riding motorcycles, giving someone a massage, watching a good film, or discussing things that people are passionate about, these and so many more things do I love. Have you ever sat back and listened to what someone had to say? I mean really listened? If you have, then that person has given you a gift that is more costly then any treasure you could ever accumulate on earth. In alot of ways, that person just made you the weathiest person on the planet. I love it when someone feels free enough with me to talk about what they really think, because, even though they may have to breathe in order to continue living, and they may have to sleep and pay taxes and do all the other things that we MUST do, no one ,ever, NEEDS to share their opinion with someone else. So when they choose to discuss with me the way they feel about something, it makes me feel honored in a very real way. So, I guess my main interests would be concerned with God, next would be with people, and thirdly, things that I would enjoy doing by myself. Way too much to write out right now though, maybe I'll update it another time.
People from all over the world. I love to talk with people and get to know them. Always looking to get to know new people.
Love the blues, give me a little Miles Davis, or Robert Johnson, and I am a happy man. But there is something about modern indie, alternative rock that, pardon the lame pun, rocks. When a band has something to say, not just trying to sell albums, they seem to grab my attention. But as for styles I like, lets just say there is not too much that I don't like. I can almost always find something good in a pice of music, or atleast appreciate the effort it took for the band to do what they did. That being said though, I don't like club music here in the UK. To me, and this is just my opinion of course, the dj's don't have that style that dj's in the rest of the world have. They don't seem to blend music together, it is almost like they just stop one cd, and start up another real quick. Not the best way to keep me interested. But as for music I do enjoy, the range is vast. From blues to Beethoven, from opera to Juniper Lane, from Clint Black to Cirque Du Soleil, from Gospel to Ella Fitzgerald, from Al Green to Casting Crowns, there is not too much I don't find entertaining.
I think "Enders' Game" is one of the best books written. I love any book that can put me where the author is trying to take me. I love poetry for just that reason. I don't normally like a book just because it is popular, but the book must really make me want to connect with it. Dantes' "Inferno", "Purgatorio", and "Paradisio" are books that will always be among my favorites. Brendan Manning is another author that I feel can really write a book well. Check out "The Ragamuffins Gospel." And if you want a book to really challenge you, check out "The Cost of Discipleship" by Dietrich Bonhoeffer, or "Suspician and Faith, The Religious Uses of Modern Atheism" by Merald Westphal, pretty great books in my opinion. Any book that can make you think, I believe is a great book. And if you really want to think, read the Bible.
