On June 1 st 1984, a set of Haitian American born twins, ironically Gemini, made their first debut out onto the world. Born Jumel and Jovani Verna, they would become known as Gifted and Justhis, members of a new Hip-Hop group, named Siah-me'z. Born into a family of 7 other siblings, with a mother who worked as a cleaning woman, and a father who worked as a doorman, they spent their first 9 years in Brooklyn where they were born. They then moved to Queens, where they currently reside. According to Gifted, who has been named the twin with more of a grimy feel, Brooklyn made me, but Queens raised me. Justhis has become known as the more versatile twin, but in no way to be mistaken for soft. Their sense of style can not easily be categorized, it's seems like the only way to name it, is to give them a category all their own, a category where CEO meets Hood, where a clean cut look meets the urban scene. Both are founding members of the FLIP FAM Organization, and currently preparing to enter their senior year at Long Island University, where they both major in Marketing. Gifted and Justhis the members of this Hip-Hop duo, decided on the name Siah-Me'z because of what the word means to them. The connotation of Siamese comes from being twins; Siah comes form the word Messiah that means King, and Me'z meaning each in themselves. Thus became born the duo of Twin Kings that will soon overtake the Hip-Hop game. Siah-Me'z began in 2000, but gained its momentum in 2002, when their music was heard by a neighbor. Their neighbor who is now their present manager, Cassius of Flia Entertainment / City Knights Management Inc. , is quoted saying that the twins will Come into the game, the way Lebron came into the NBA. When asked what has influenced them as artists, they wasted no time explaining the struggle of their parents, both Haitian immigrants, who never graduated high school, and raised 9 kids in the projects, trying to survive on small wages. Both twins look up not only to their parents, but also to their older brother Big Jun, who 6 years older than them. According to the twins Big Jun has always been there pushing them to be better, all the while supporting their dreams. He taught them never to settle, to be like him, or be better. It seems like the twins are heeding his advice, because they're ready to take the Hip-Hop game by storm. Siah-Me'z is currently working on putting together the main album to be released, from a library of songs that have already been recorded. Through their growth in the Hip-Hop game, the twins feel like they have improved lyrically, meeting new people that have provided new experiences and opportunities, and achieving inspiration and respect from the streets where they grew up. Once you've received the respect of 10 solid fans, then you're ready for the world, claims Justhis, although both twins firmly believe that once they're heard, they can't be stopped, because they will bring the East Coast Back. Both Gifted and Justhis are looking forwarded to hopefully doing collaborations with other respected artists such as Jay Z, Amerie, 50 Cent, Dead Prez, Outkast, Daddy Yankee, Don Omar, and Michael Jackson among others. A mutual goal that the twins share is the want to be the 1 st Rapping Double Mint Twins. Although they are twins they have their own separate goals in mind, Gifted who wants love from the world, and be known on an International level, and maybe one day pursue a solo album. Justhis, wants to make sure Siah-Me'z makes hits, classics that can never be forgotten, to be entrepreneurs, and Take Hip-Hop to another level, and evolve it.
