Hello! I am Helen. Beneath the chaos of struggling to make a living and keeping mundane life at bay, I'm a DIY-musician and composer and producer etcetera. I consider music to be art before entertainment, so I have a lot of reservations about fitting my expressions into commercial boxes. The creation of music is neither a hobby nor a passion - it's my alchemic path.
All my music is recorded and produced 100% by me, at home in my bedroom rather than in a studio because it's convenient and just more FUN this way and I get complete creative control over everything.
I'm slowly but surely working on a new album called 'The Cocoon', based around the idea of life as a series of psychological cocoons. It is, in fact, ridiculous amounts of fun, as well as riridulously introspective, but progress will be slow because I am juggling way too many things in my life at the moment. I hope you don't all get bored waiting! I hope to have a couple more of these tracks recorded before the end of the month.
I go through different stylistic phases in my music not because I can't decide what I'm about but because I'm always discovering sounds from other people that give me something new, and I get obsessed with the idea of harnessing the beauty in it and making it my own. ;) I don't always succeed! But if you stop and stick to one style, one idea, then you're not really moving forward, are you? There's so much more to learn, and not enough time to fit it all in! Le SIGH.

A slightly freaky film with a slightly freaky soundtrack! It sounds nicer in stereo, but youtube insists on mono-i-fying things so OH WELL. I made the soundtrack, but not the film. I don't know where that's from - it's a dada film set as a piece of coursework by my uni. I'd like to work on more stuff like this, but I don't know anyone who makes this kind of film. So if you do, then hello and please message me, because this was super-duper fun. :] Oh and also, this video is linked to the Cocoon Project. It was kinda this video that spawned the whole Cocoon idea, in part. "This me has no name, no echoes: Me in outline, me unshaded, something moving, something changing."

If you're just going to add me just to make up numbers on your friends page then pleeeease don't bother - I will probably just end up deleting you, since I find it quite rude when people add me and do not ever bother to say anything at all to me! :( Also, I find it even more rude when bands do not make any personal comments at all but then for some obscure reason decide to post a huge great advertisement for their new CD or whatever in my comments space. Oi, oi, oi... please don't do that! :O This is my space (...ha! ^_^), and if you can't be bothered even to say a simple hello then it's unlikely that I'm going to be interested in your vain self-promotion. Ahem... am I being harsh? Hee. I'm a stubborn, picky creature. I like nice people who say hello and give me smiles and hugs and say happy things to me. :)
I cannot guarantee that I'll always comment on people or bands that add me (and actually I believe the person who requests the add really ought to comment first anyway - good myspace etiquette!!) but I will always look around their pages and listen! OK, and that's my rant over with. ;)

*edits* Ha! I am amused that I still get add requests from bands everyday who never say a word to me. Clearly these people don't even stop to READ anything that's on my profile, including the above rant. What can you do, eh..... :) Well, toodle pip.
