I have a few heroes: Micheal Jordan, Pat Tillman - who gave up a lucrative career in the NFL to go serve his country in Iraq (regardless of neones opinions on the justification of this war); And the late Capt. Sidney Solomon, who was the commanding officer of a company of the 2nd Rangers (i believe) and was the first to storm the cliffs of Normandy beach on D-Day, June 6, 1944. Only 8 men of his 35-40 man company survived that battle. He was awarded 2 Silver Stars and 1 Bronze Star, as well as several Purple Hearts. He is the person on which the character that Tom Hanks played in the movie Saving Private Ryan is based. He served as a consultant in that movie. He recently died of cancer and was the greatest man i ever had the priviledge of knowing.
