JACK "SUPERMODELS ONLY" EGO

I HAVE TO WIN, NO MATTER WHAT.

About Me

I have finally figured out that 98% of America is broke, unhappy and just barely making it day to day. With that said there is only one soulution; make moves. Life is not about making one move that is socially acceptable to get to the top (everyone tries that); but about making so many combined MOVES to never be pushed to the bottom. So the best way to win this hustle is constantly making intersecting moves at all costs; so as not to finish last. The reality is, we are just too old to play. Either you make 10 stacks a month or are barely making a grand and your woman leaves you; because there is no middle ground. Safe is comfortable, yet no true success is ever safe. Cash money will never play out.My turnons are simplistic: Double Southern Comfort and Coke drinks# Issey Miachy and Joop Nights colonge# Kenneth Cole and Zegna clothing# Informational Media downloads# Vinyl Records, not CD's# Mac Powerbook G4 and Ipod# E-Commerce sales# N2O and Rolls# BMW 740il 1999# Tax Write-offs# Nike Airmax 90 and 95's# Dry Cleaning services# Hoodless windbreakers# Real Afterhours# BMX wall rides at LSD# Sweatpea Bath and Body lotion# My arrogant sarcasm# Clove cigarettes# Spumoni ice cream# Paul Mooney comedy# The mystery of kissing jazzy women# God#To get away, I relax by working out and riding my mountain bike excessively in the unincorperated suburban forest preserves, Lake Shore Drive and Wicker Park (with my cousins and friends) to the point of sparing no expense to keep it and myself in shape. Basically my cousin and I are the ones riding the wall at the Shedd Aquarium on Saturday afternoons. I also have a collection of cracked out vinyl records, so at times I like to see how they sound on two turntables; as people snap out on the dancefloor. I personally prefer spinning out of state only; as a rule. I refuse to spin in Chicago; because there is no scene. No fake-ass CD players, just turntables or my powerbook. Too bad things cannot be the same in America as they were in the late 80's and early 90's. Even afterhours are becoming wack these days.Like most from a city of pure house music genius, I grew up listening to WKKC and WBMX mix shows on my late uncle JJ's silver reciever and speaker at 14 years old. In the summer of 1993 I attended my first loft party in Chicago, which were legendary. One thing I noticed is that no matter who you were you were accepted, because the mission was to dance your problems away in the "jackpit". Violence was zero, because the love vibe was always key and fights scare the women away. I heard beat disco, acid tracks and vocals on vinyl from the decks; from simple DJ's with a deep message. I could get off work at 2:30am, and be at the party at 3am in my pajamas; and the party was just getting started. From what I remembered in the late 80's, club Medusas (on Sheffield not Milwalkee ave. posers) was the only outlet prior to this. It was magical to follow up in the early 90's by walking through an alley, up a dark staircase; into this dance crazed energy that afterhours provided. I could not believe there were still people jacking in a mosh pit to house tracks (like the movie Rize, with no rap); no other city does this.I ran into many afterhours promotors who were doing lofts every Friday and Saturday, even throwing day parties. Many would send the word, person to person or draw on a piece of paper in crayon the name, Dj's, and address. They would promote for a few days or people would just call them looking to expend energy from a pressurized week in Chicago. There were so many spaces, because the mayor was not trying so hard to boom real estate; and push out people who live paycheck to paycheck. When it comes to protecting the city's financial investments, the police always soldier up to wipe away any danger of potiential financial loss; for the rich. This makes Chicago parties the casualty.I then began really throwing my own afterhours parties in the winter of 1993, going only to larger raves and clubs to pass out flyers and network. I got a crowd of gays, art students, hustlers, pimps, strippers, skaters and stock exchange workers. That is a blend that is so appreciated. You see there is something totally sexy about being at a party with only like 150 dedicated, rather than an unknown multi-thousand. People now focus on the radio and videos for their musical tastes, then clubs cater to this to expand the cash yields. Also stepping into a club has always felt restrictive. I mean you freak and light up a Black and Mild cigar, and the security presses you; and tells you to take your hat off (La Passage). Then a woman takes you into a bathroom to scam and they want to throw you out of the club (Crobar). Hey, I am just trying to do me; and you want to kick me out for dancing (The Note) or promoting (Boom boom Room)? If you are a club or a rave that is cool and God bless you; but that makes things so impersonal for me and others I know who demand loft afterhours. No politics or superstars, just can you spread the word that you can do your thing and no one will judge you for being beautiful? What we used to do at Jack Ego is catch the people who missed the beauty of the 1985 to 1999 events in every way. What has been happening since 2000 is really a lot less than a crowd deserves. Basically we can still tell 20 people we are having a company soiree and it is always pretty packed out, by advance reservation only. Never passing out flyers or advertising, just caring about the needs of the crowd through email and a relaxing phone conversation. At these parties stress takes a back seat. You are free to enjoy the open concessions that we have available to serve; because you have already been placed on a private-members only list, based on you being a regular vinyl connisuer.I thew these private loft parties about once a month, and had been doing that for 13 years; because clubs cannot meet the needs of a real crowd. Afterhours are just sexier for people 21 to 50 over mainstream clubs. This is because I have a small clientelle every month that wants to party; and I never invite more than 100 people. The vibe is personal and fun, never standoffish or profit orientated. People pay one fee, and I provide everything. We let in only people who prove themselves as a love crowd, and no one else.In over 3 decades of life I realize that their are no jobs that pay you as much as you are worth, buy getting yourself paid. For example; I have an .. wholesale media export conglomerate named Jack Ego, that I use to sell hard to find records and imported films for collectors overseas. I noe devote my full time on that and haved retired from parties and spinning. I also allow myself to be subcontracted for PR field consulting; putting my past college major to work. I have stopped media business here in America. I would rather refer local interests to other Chicago and national businesses to keep my moves international; before I will decide to take control of the right oppurtunity. Keep in mind that praying at every meal; while abstaining from greed or jealousy are the keys that unlock the jail cell of unhappiness and ensure decades of success.
