'Start with God - the first step in learning is bowing down to God' Proverbs 1:7

About Me

A couple of years ago, I was exploring Chicago and wandered over to an International SLAM Poetry Competition. Didn't know what was going but when I asked what was going on and the brother said "poetry", I parked my car and paid my $5 or $10 to gain entrance to an experience that impacted my life. I'd never heard poetry like this before. I'd never seen poetry delivered like this. I began to wonder if I'd really ever heard poetry before. So, I began to visit poetry spots around the city, listening, writing and sharing a few pieces. I even spent several evenings at the Green Mill listening to the father of SLAM, Mark Smith. This was a whole new world for me and it touched a place in my artistic soul that I never knew existed. When I left Chicago, I lost my connection but never forgot the experience. I'm extactic to find so many fellow writers and artists to connect with and exploring journey into spoken word. . ...........................I am constantly amazed by the transformation that occurs in my life. Each day reveals another facet of this diamond that I had not yet discovered. As old mindsets are thrown away like a pair of worn out gym socks, I am constantly shifting, recreating and reaching for my True Self, the Self God, my original architect, designed for me to be. I find myself continually going back to my Source for repair, reconstruction and redevelopment. So my life is nothing like it was a year ago and is not today like it will be a year from now. I've embraced this and find my stability in God because the only thing constant is change and God............My affirmation: I am a Lioness: courageous, beautiful and strong. I am a Levite; I tap into the FREQUENCY of YAH and play the SOUND of ELOHIM. YAH has taught my fingers to fight and my hands to war upon the instruments. My songs drive away evil spirits and usher in the manifest presence of YAHWEH. Wisdom is my sister. The words I speak are life and I deliver them with boldness and the authority as given to me by YAHUSHUA the Messiah (Jesus Christ).

My Interests

God, family, MUSIC, poetry, travel

I'd like to meet:

Down-to-earth people with a passion for God; fellow musicians, writers and artists. I would like to also one day meet President Nelson Mandela, Quincy Jones, Wynton Marsalis, Kenneth "Babyface" Evans, Tavis Smiley...just to name a few....

Music:

I love music. I'm a musician so I'm constantly listening to and creating music. I listen to all kinds of styles of music but I can't tolerate everybody's music. Everybody's music brings with it a certain vibe and if it don't feel right in my spirit, I don't listen to it. Posted By:myrik
