About Me

I was born in 77, and for whatever reason, that means I'm way punker than you. I am an aspiring radio personality, and you can hear me on CT radio station airwaves from time to time. I have a laugh that may startle you at first, but friends confess that over time it ends up being the sort of distinguishing characteristic that warms the hearts of those around me. Or you may just think its loud. People that matter truly love it. I like to sit and discuss politics, religion, music and literature. That said, i can still appreciate a good fart joke. I've been to China, Haiti, and Europe. I spent a year doing volunteer work in Sacramento, CA. I'm the sort of person that makes friends and keeps them.

Also, Just in time for Summer:

My Interests

I'm way into eating out and finding unique, under-appreciated food. I like to go to shows, meet new people, and laugh. A lot. My musical tastes vary to encompass so much (see below), but I would say that it plays a large role in my life. Probably because my teens found me at more than my fair share of punk and hardcore shows. I love to travel.

I'd like to meet:

No one dead. God might play a mean practical joke. I'd like to meet people who can listen to minor threat and discuss Belle and Sebastian with the same sort of vigor. I'd like to meet people who can appreciate a restaurant called the Pancake Circus.

Music:

This is always so hard, because I like so much and it is so varied. And it is not varied because I am trying to look all cool, it is varied because, after my teen and most of my college years I found the import and interest in branching out, not that I am forgetting my roots y'all, not at all. My favorite band ever is Minor Threat. A quick look around my car you will see these CD's lying around : Stellastar*, The Flaming Lips, Modest Mouse, Belle and Sebastian, Non-Prophets, The Coup, Ben Harper, The Oath, Charles Bronson, Tragedy, Think I Care, N*E*R*D, The Shins, Johnny Cash, Black Star, Nick Drake, The Dismemberment Plan, The Postal Service, Hot Hot Heat, De La Soul, Sleater-Kinney, El-P, Kanye West, PrettY Girls Make Graves, ....And You Will Know Us By The Trail of Dead, Beck (sea Change), Tenacious D, Dizzee Rascal, Northern State, The JEsus and Mary Chain etc. etc.

Movies:

Again, this is hard there are so many. There is a small game I have played with friends, usually over beers or what not and usually late at night where we give the ten or twenty movies that we would always watch if we happened upon them on TV, we would stay and watch them. This is actually always in flux, but here we go, The Star Wars Trilogy, Godfathers 1 & 2 (F 3), Pulp Fiction, The Third Man, Rear Window, Rushmore, The Royal Tennenbaums, The Big Lebowski, Dazed and Confused, Jaws, Sixteen Candles, Wonder Boys, The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly, Breakfast Club, Indiana Jones Trilogy. Theres probably more for a myriad of reasons, but those are off the top of my head. The two best movies of the year thus far have been Kill Bill Volume 2 and Dawn of the Dead. Go figure.

Television:

Oh man, recently I have just been watching a lot of DVD's. And I think those seasons of television shows are both awesome and not so awesome, because they get you addicted, you don't have to wait a week for the next chapter or you can watch old tv shows you haven't watched in a long time. That being said The Simpsons, although it is somewhat losing its luster, then there is South Park, and Chappelle's Show, which is something that makes me laugh out loud when I am by myself like, really no other. I have been watching and thoroughly enjoyingthe 2nd Series of The OFfice, as well as the 1st season of Curb Your Enthusiasm, and the 3rd season of Mr. Show. I like the standards like Seinfeld, of course in reruns now. And other things here and there...

Books:

Here I would say 1984 by George Orwell, A Clockwork Orange by Anthony Burgess, and Ishmael by Daniel Quinn. And in the nonfiction categories, A People's HIstory of the United States by Howard Zinn, and Fragrant Palm Leaves by Thich Nhat Hanh

Heroes:

Ed Norcia.
