About Me

Originally Acquackanonk Township, Clifton became a city on April 26 1917 with it's City Hall located on the corner of Main and Harding. Census report in 1920 shows 26,470 residents. The first elected mayor was George F. Schmidt in 1918. Clifton High School (Now Christopher Columbus Middle School) opened in Sept. of 1926 after having already won it's first State Football Championship in 1922. The Clifton Mustang Band was organized in 1938. In 1952 Clifton was named "New Jersey's fastest growing city with a pop. of over 65,000. The current High School on Colfax Ave. was dedicated in 1962. On Sept. 14 1980 the current City Hall was dedicated, and in that same year the Safety Towne Program instituted. (If you grew up here you'd know what it is) In 1995 the City's recycling rate reaches 75% and becomes one of the nations best recycling cities. In 1998 The Girls Softball team finishes it's second consecutive 31-0 season. In 1999 Clifton was named in the top 11 percent of the nations safest cities. In 2000 the US Census showed 78672 people in Clifton. 2002 Mayor James Anzaldi is re-elected to his fourth term.Clifton is located at 4052'4" North, 749'16" West (40.867899, -74.154520)According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 29.5 km (11.4 mi). 29.3 km (11.3 mi) of it is land and 0.3 km (0.1 mi) of it is water. The total area is 0.88% water

Well the newest comment asked a good question "Why is your hometown Paterson, NJ?" Just in case you guys didn't know Clifton was part of Paterson way back. Then we broke off.

Well, apparently the old site for Clifton is no more so I will begin a new one. I will only add ppl that live in Clifton or can somehow prove that they have lived here. I will be really slow with pics...
