Here's to the crazy ones, the misfits, the rebels, the troublemakers, the round pegs in the square holes... the ones who see things differently -- they're not fond of rules... You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them, but the only thing you can't do is ignore them because they change things... they push the human race forward, and while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius, because the ones who are crazy enough to think that they can change the world, are the ones who do.
- Steve Jobs
And from the wonderfully insightful Elisabeth Kubler-Ross - who's book has gotten me through a lot:
People are like stained-glass windows. They sparkle and shine when the sun is out, but when the darkness sets in, their true beauty is revealed only if there is a light from within.
Watch Ciarán Flynn's Remind Me - great voice, honest lyrics

..
Closeted country fan. Listens to XRT to keep up with the Jones', but listens to US99 in the car.
Fan of singer/songwriters: Ryan Adams, Matt Nathanson, Jeff Buckley, Damien Rice, Bob Dylan, Simon & Garfunkel, Ciaran Flynn, Mundy, & Mark Geary.
Like Brit/Irish bands: Bell X1, Radiohead, James, Snow Patrol, The Frames and the like.
Always a fan of Counting Crows, Toad the Wet Sprocket and (blush...) Hootie! Traditional Irish and much, much more.
Embarrasing iPod find: Westlife - sentimental reasons.
Dead Poets Society, Glory, Shawshank Redemption and Life is Beautiful are on my all-time best list. Wind that Shakes the Barley (or anything with Cillian Murphy, apart from Breakfast on Pluto) and anything with Daniel Day-Lewis. Would the two of 'em not do a film together?!?! But,that said, I'll watch anything entertaining (i.e. Boondock Saints)for 2 hours on a sunday.
Bears and Cubs!
Entourage and How I Met Your Mother are "can't miss" in my book. I regularly lose a few hours a week to Discovery and the History Channel. Strangely addicted to some reality programming (I'm a psych major - it's in my nature). Family Guy and anything with Ricky Gervais... so funny!!!
Gatsby - was there a better book written?
Nick Hornby, Colm Toibin, Malcolm Gladwell, Mark Twain, Alice McDermott and the Barrytown Trilogy and the like...
My grandparents - they made a lot out of a little and never complained. Anyone willing to follow their dreams of writing, music and art (yeah, I'm talking about you Becka, Ciaran and Frid). And anyone who stands up for someone who can't stand up for themselves.
