Stars of the Silverscreen consists of four rock'n'roll loving guys, playing with a passion for 70's rock and the new wave punk scene, which creates their unique sound.
The members of Stars of the Silverscreen come from a rich musical background, having played everything from irish folk punk to heavy hardcore. They are now joined together as drummer Fret, bassplayer Freddy, Peter on lead guitar and background vocals, and all this with the breathtaking voice and rhythm guitar of K.J.
All of the members have been playing in more or less successful band through out the years and have now good experience of live performances (since some of the bands have gone on several tours. The great stage presence combined with a rocking repetoire makes the show of the century.
Stars of the Silverscreen came to life when K.J and former bassplayer Magnus band Eppy split up, and K.J called his old friend Mattias to start a new band. They had many musical influences in common, so Mattias agreed with the band idea and also brought Fret along from Abhinanda. K.J wrote a couple of songs and the band started rehearsing, but shortly after that, Mattias moved to Stockholm and they had to find another guitarist.
K.J and his old friend Magnus started talking about Peter, who had played together with Magnus in several bands. Peter was the greatest guitarist they had ever heard and was luckily just about to move to Umea. He joined the band and it was a perfect match. The missing pieces in their sound was now restored. Peters licks and guitar solos gave the songs a whole new dimension, which inspired K.J's song writing even more. They recorded two demos, which lead to the recording of their first album "stars of the silverscreen" which is about to be released. Waiting for the release, K.J has written several kick ass songs which tells of a promising future!Stars of the Silverscreen is the sound of the future with a touch of the past - a combination nobody will be able to resist! Now the line up has changed!Joined forces with the band is Freddy the new bassplayer. This completes the handsome foursome as we see them today!
