Damian Paone was born and Raised in New Jersey though he began traveling and performing professionally at a very early age. He can be found performing as a bandleader as well as a sideman in and around NYC, traveling worldwide performing with his own bands/groups or with musicians from all parts of the world. He has performed with with legendary musicians and jazz greats young and old such as: Frank Wess, Barry Harris, Earl May, Benny Powell, Billy Taylor, Leroy Williams, Ray Drummond, Jimmy Lovelace, Dennis Irwin, Harry Whitaker, Jimmie Owens, Paul Brown, Willie Jones III, Jimmy Wormworth, James Chirillo, Rossano Sportiello, Oscar Zenari, Pat O'Leary, Frank Levitino, Scott Robinson, Neal Miner and Ronnie Ben-Hur among countless others. An accomplished arranger and educator, Damian has been copying and arranging for Barry Harris’ Jazz Ensemble and Orchestra as well as Count Basie’s Orchestra and The Moscow Symphony Orchestra for singer Melba Joyce. As an educator he continues to teach workshops for the saxophone and improvisation in schools and universities around the world on all levels as well as private instruction. As a sideman Damian Paone has performed for the past 4 years at JazzMobile with Barry Harris, Ray Drummond and Leroy Williams along with other jazz greats. Recent performances of note include The Trane Studio in Toronto, a special third engagement at The United Nations where he led a group to perform for Kofi Annan and his wife along with staff members of the U.N and The 10th Annual Giants Of Jazz Concert.
