My interests are many but Women Health Issues are high on my priority list. As I am now almost 15 year survivor of breast cancer. I love my church family and I love worship. I enjoy my small womens group bible study such wonderful sisters and mentors. They seem to continue to grow me up. I love discussing christian matters....but I am no longer intrigued by religous issues and doctrine. Better said, I'm all about relationship. My hubby and I collect art glass "Viking Glass" which is no longer made. We love to hunt for pieces with the original "Viking" sticker on. As far as hobbies much of my spare time is enjoying my grandsons what more can I say...They make me "Smile"!! I do enjoy stamping and making homemade cards. It is a huge stress reliever for me and I have my niece Wendy to thank for this. Gary and I have a new together hobbie. Yes, a new toy, a Gold Wing Trike......we enjoy our weekend trips and especially "Tennessee" riding it's worshipful and very breathtaking.
Who I'd like to meet well...No doubt, Jesus and I will one day...yes, forsure....then, I would once again like to re-visit old friends and family .....a reunion of sorts to share bits of each others journey. Just to sit and have a cup of java, to be transparent, sharing openly and honestly. Looking into the eyes of another person can tell one volumes. I am always open to making new friends along the way.
My style of music, I love "all" kinds, my most favorite is Praise and Worship, Rock and Roll from "my" era! I love Deep Soul, Blues and Jazz and good brisk island music too!! It is very dependant on my state of heart. Of course you can't live in Tennessee without a little country from time to time.
I like a good movie but I am terrible with the names of movies and who had the lead roles.....Have me do a red carpet quiz and I would seriously fail, I guess I need to watch "Entertainment Tonight" or read "People"....but, I don't!! My VERY Favorite Movie ever: "The Education of Little Tree" I have watched it "five" times, the scenery is unreal the story is touching......Drew Berrymore, Harrison Ford, Michael Douglas are just a few of my favorite actors.
What can I say TV is TV.....It's okay.....just not interested in the violence and very tired of the negative and "POLITICS"!! Come on, lets see and hear some good news for a change that will inspire and motivate people. I however enjoy some of the reality television programs probably "Idol" is one I look forward to the most.
I love to read and I must say it has taken many years (to discipline myself into reading) but the "Bible" is truly my inspiration. Some books that I have read......devotional, "When God Speaks to My Heart" by Rosalie Willis......"Seizing Your Divine Moment" and "Uprising" by Erwin McManus.....of course, C.S. Lewis....My all time favorite "The Secret Garden" by Francis Burnett Francine Rivers is my favorite fiction writer. She is so gifted and takes you to some special places.
My Dad and Mom are my ultimate heroes. They "LOVED" each other what more can I say, they modeled that for me and what a gift it has been in my life.....Also my brother in law.....Dennis is an amazing guy who hit adversity with such integrity and has the drive and passion of a warrior. He has been a quadraplegic since the age of 26 due to a stock car racing accident. He is probably the most positive person I have ever known in my life. He's an inspiration to anyone who has the opportunity to cross paths with him.
