When Robert Bacon was being brought up in the small farming town of Butler, Missouri, Country music was always a part of his life. But early on, he had other dreams.
Bacon studied Business Management, Marketing, and Accounting at Southwest Baptist University in Bolivar, Missouri. "It was good, I liked it and learned a lot about business that is a big help in the music business", said Bacon, whose field of study prior to his musical career sounds a great deal like that of the young Garth Brooks in Oklahoma.Like Garth but unlike so many artists, Roberts education and experience gave him a natural feel for the business side of show business long before he ever hit Nashville.During Bacon's school days, he loved the music of Alan Jackson, George Strait, Garth, and others. But it was a 1993 show by Rhett Akins, the Georgia singer and songwriter whose song, "That Aint My Truck" and "Don't Get Me Started" became Top 5 Billboard singles that changed Roberts life."When I saw Rhett back in 1993, that was when I knew what I wanted to do," Bacon said. He started a band and began playing local clubs, and came to Nashville for the first time in 2000. "I liked Nashville a lot, I was hooked," he said.Bacon and Hightower found the song Drinkin' Thinkin', a hooky hit penned by Shapiro, Tony Martin, and Rick Bowles. The song debuted on CDX late in 2005, and was on the Texas and European music charts."I love the studio, I always have, and am excited to be back in the studio" Robert says.Robert has relocated to Nashville permanently and is working on songs for his new CD. While Robert visits the site when he can, he is simply too busy to run it himself. He says he appreciates all of the support that you guys give him, and he will try to read and answer some of the wonderful messages everyone has sent once his schedule isn't quite so hectic. I just don't want anyone to think that your messages are just being ignored, so feel free to continue to write, post comments, tell all your friends about his music, etc! Soon, I will make available some banners for posting on your own pages, and I am even working on a customized Robert layout to use for your own myspace page. More will be happening on here soon, I promise! Thanks for being so patient and wonderful! You guys rock.
