About Me

Don't wish to sound mean but I have no interest in becoming MySpace friends with people I don't know. I also have no interest in your band. If I want to hear your music, I will make my own way to YourSpace, thank you. If you're from efests, wicked, but please send me a message or I'll just assume you're one of these lame-o types that needs MySpace friends as they have no mates in real life. Cheers! xx

See the world. It’s more fantastic than any dream made or paid for in factories. Ask no guarantees, ask for no security, there never was such an animal. And if there were, it would be related to the great sloth which hangs upside down in a tree all day every day, sleeping its life away. To hell with that…shake the tree and knock the great sloth down on his ass.” - Ray Bradbury, Fahrenheit 451 (1954)According to the "Which Big Lebowski character are you?" quiz:

Why don't you check it out? Or we cut off your Johnson! Vanity is becoming a nuisance; I can see why women give it up, eventually. But I'm not ready for that yet. (Margeret Atwood, Cat's Eye, 1990)

I am Queen of the Geeks and I know it. I talk too much, regularly put my foot in my mouth, often trip over things and get terribly worried about what those around me think of me. I get hiccups regularly and I snore. I have a slight addiction to shopping (fortunately for my bank balance this addiction mostly revolves around Primark). I have just discovered Yoga and this is my new obsession: I go as often as I can afford. I love music of all kinds, but love it best when it's live either in big venues or teeny tiny pub back rooms. I work in the uber-cool world of cheesey shopping tv but dabble with reviewing live music for efestivals.co.uk and working for Xfm in my spare time. Both are mostly unpaid but get me to gigs for free which would be good enough for me, and then occassionally give me surprise cash injections, which is nice! I like travel and adventure, my lovely friends, sunshine, camping, walking, fabulous boots, costume jewellery, bags from Accessorise, posh make-up, giving people great presents they'll love, dying my hair, French Feminism, Zach Braff, Foucault, food, cooking, eating out, cheese, chocolate brioche, hummous, tuna steak, brazil nuts & pecans, wine, gold or dark rum, Margaret Atwood, not watching my weight, going to galleries, drinking in my favourite pub The Defectors Weld and having chats about things I really give a shit about. I dislike being asked if I've lost weight (I'm unlikely to know), being skint, being lonely, rudeness, vodka, the fact I don't read any more, capers, being under-estimated, people who are unable to disguise the fact that they've judged you, racism, sexism and skinny jeans. People tell me I'm some sort of strange hybrid of Daisy Steiner from Spaced & Elliot from Scrubs. This is not a good thing. So that's enough about me. What do you think about me?

My Interests

My friends are pretty interesting...
Cool Slideshows I love reading, films, comedy, art, exploring and adventures (both big and small), spending time with my mates, getting very drunk preferably on rum or wine and laughing as much as possible. I also rather like cooking, I have recently discovered - it can be fun! I've just started Yoga as well and am totally in the honeymoon stage - it's amazing!

I'd like to meet:

Never meet your heroes...it can only end in tears. Aside from that, I'd like to meet Margeret Atwood, Lauren Laverne, Annie Mac and PJ Harvey. I would take a hanky just in case.

Cool Slideshows

Movies:

Heathers, Almost Famous, The Big Lebowski, Adaptation, Mean Girls, Being John Malkovich, Boys Don't Cry, Saved, Million Dollar Baby, Leaving Las Vegas, Requiem for a Dream, Walk the Line and loads more.

Television:

Mostly comedy: The Mighty Boosh, Spaced, Black Books, Big Train, Green Wing, Scrubs, Shameless. I also like 24, Lost, Desperate Housewives and other such big budget, low braincell guilty pleasures.

Books:

Any and all by Margeret Atwood, but especially Oryx & Crake, The Blind Assassin and Cat's Eye. I also like Ian McEwan very much, particularly Atonement and Amsterdam. Other than that Katherine Mansfield's short stories are pretty spectacular and Roahl Dahl, obviously, although I am currently having a sci-fi binge. Anything post-apocalyptic is good (preferably nuclear holocaust or some kind of plague please. Not that I'm fussy of course.) but experiments gone wrong also gratefully received.
