Make Your Free Pirate Plaque Here! My dreams include living by the sea, the place I love the most, with time to devote to my writing and music, time to travel adventurously around the world and meet new people and experience different cultures, and with enough money not to have to worry about it. I would like to find true love again for I have much love to give, but if it never comes, then I will still live life to the fullest and continue to shower my love on family and friends until time is no more for me.That is part of my dream. The reality is that I must work hard to make ends meet to support my family and rarely have the time or resources to do anything special for myself. Yet, through all the trials of life, God has been good to me. Now, what do you want to know?

Music:

Music has always been a big part of my life and my passion, both as a performer and as someone who enjoys most types of music, from classical to rock, from music of the islands to songs of the desert, from oldies to contemporary Christian, from Broadway musicals to the opera, from barbershop to country - all are a part of me! It is difficult to choose just a few favorite artists or composers because I have so many that I enjoy (sometimes depending on my mood!), and I would certainly leave out many favorites in the process.

Myspace Icons

From Mozart to Rachmaninoff, Keali'i Reichel to Kenny G, Mannheim Steamroller, Trans-Siberian Orchestra, Vangelis, Simple Plan, Casting Crowns, TobyMac, Jaci Velasquez, Michael W. Smith, Amy Grant, Cher, Eric Clapton, The Temptations, Maroon 5, Celine Dion, Madonna, Jimmy Wayne, The Beach Boys, REO Speedwagon, George Benson.......See? I can't even begin to name them!!!

Although I have never been to Hawaii, that is certainly a dream of mine, and to hear the music of Keali'i Reichel and Hapa in person would be heavenly! I would also like to go back to St. Croix and hear the music of the Steel Drum Band playing on the beach of the Caribbean. I'm just an island girl at heart, I guess.

I must not forget the Dallas, Texas local Blues band, 7th Son, whose former singer and guitarist honored me during our short-term relationship by singing and dedicating Eric Clapton's "Wonderful Tonight" to me in a gig one evening back in 1996. I guess that song will always be Bill's song to me! Plus, I gained a greater appreciation and new love for "The Blues." ************************And I would be remiss if I didn't also mention my nephew's contemporary Christian rock band, 13th Disciple, who are busy juggling school with their increasing popularity in several of the Southeastern United States (http://www.13thdisciple.com/)Currently I sing with the award winning Carolina Style Chorus of Sweet Adelines International, sing in the Choral Union at Gardner-Webb University, play in the Handbell Ensemble for Gardner-Webb University, play the piano for Cliffside United Methodist Church, and dabble with the guitar. My family does not sing as a quartet any more since my mother's Alzheimer's has gotten worse, and my brother has moved near the coast; however, my teenage daughter and I have now become a duet, both for piano/violin and in singing. Yes, music shall forever be part of my passion and life.

Movies:

Lord of the Rings, The Phantom of the Opera, Jumanji, The Notebook, Star Wars, The African Queen, Titanic, Jurassic Park, Die Hard, Hounded, Pirates of the Caribbean, Chariots of Fire, I'd Climb the Highest Mountain, Murder on the Orient Express, Ten Little Indians, The Day the Earth Stood Still (the movie that gave me nightmares when I was a child!), the Indiana Jones movies, and many more!

Television:

I don't get to watch much TV any more, but here are some recent past and present favs: Roswell, Angel, CSI, Smallville, Star Trek, Little House on the Prairie, Murder She Wrote, etc., etc. Mostly, I look to see what the movies are.Oh, yes....I like the "soaps," too, and I watch bits and pieces of them sometimes during my lunch break. When I worked at Anson Community College, the snack bar TV was always turned to "All My Children," "One Life to Live," and "General Hospital," and I quickly learned not to try and change to something else! Consequently, after my 13 years there of being saturated with the ABC soaps during lunch, those are the ones I usually turn to now. Since my life has often seemed like a soap opera, it's good to watch these fictional characters whose lives are filled with more trials and are more messed up than mine!

Heroes:

Jesus and my parents - the real heroes of my life.
