I am here for Friends and Networking

About Me

i'm a little nerdy, very bookish, slightly mischevious, loud when i want to be, quiet when i need to be, pretty political, and crafty.
What Be Your Nerd Type? Your Result: Social Nerd

You're interested in things such as politics, psychology, child care, and peace. I wouldn't go so far as to call you a hippie, but some of you may be tree-huggers. You're the type of people who are interested in bettering the world. You're possible the least nerdy of them all; unless you participate in other activies that paled your nerdiness compared to your involvement in social activities. Whatever the case, we could still use more of you around. ^_^

My Interests

i am a crafty bookworm who can't get enough of either, however, don't be fooled. i am not shy, nor quiet. my lovey cat zoe likes to help me knit and crochet. my love likes to buy me craft books because he knows that it means he'll get something handmade. current skills: tearing up old shit and making it new and purdy, creating the perfect jacket from the wool and cordorouy that was given to me last x-mas, finding the perfect hemp yarn for beanies for my brothers, beadwork (combining celtic designs with native american craft), and just about anything else i can get my eager paint-and-glue stained hands on.

I'd like to meet:

people with good or unusual taste in music, literature, art... people who create: musicians, artists, crafters, writers... people who are smart, but don't take themselves too seriously.SARAH SILVERMAN PROGRAM CLIP 1

Music:

*tori amos* record label compilations: kill rock stars-otis opus and chicks on speed-girl monster. tom waits-orphans. stereototal, euro indie techno-pop. music with humor.

Movies:

science of sleep, little miss sunshine, eternal sunshine and mirrormask---see these movies!

Television:

i don't believe in it. total mindrot. however, if unable to resist the evil rays, i'll watch adult swim, daily show, and shark week on the discovery channel. but not at the same time.

Books:

are like kittens or puppies. i rarely find one i dislike.

Heroes:

My mom: She's tough as nails and did everything the best she could, while making everyone laugh. My dad: taught me how to laugh like i mean it, and how to be as ornery as i can. Kurt Vonnegut: i really want to give him a hug. Tori Amos: She's so brave and willing to fight for what she believes in. Susan B. Antony and the other Suffragettes: got us ladies the right to vote, and some gals the right to be humiliated on the man show. (did anyone else see that skit? it was funny as hell, but sad at the same time...) Gloria Steinem: said what needed to be said.
