Where I live is in eastern New Mexico on the prairies of the Llano Estacado High Plains, near Portales/Clovis. It is a good place to live, friendly people, and a nice climate.
I'm a semi-retired University professor, having taught sciences (specific area of microbiology). Henry Adams said: A teacher affects eternity; he can never tell where his influence stops. My experience would suggest that Mr.Adams does appear to be right. The many students in my career have touched so many in so many ways.
Life has blessed me with many things, successes, and friends, and a few very close ones. Some of my early life was spent trying to make two relationships of the past work that seemed hopeless. More recently it has been spent as a single person. It would be nice if that could change, but I wonder if the stage has been reached where it may no longer be something really important. In the attempts made using cyberspace to find someone in the search rooms where people try to meet, it seems many are there simply to entertain themselves with another's hopes. If you are guilty of that behavior, stop. Mother Teresa once said, "The biggest disease today is not leprosy or tuberculosis, but rather the feeling of being unwanted."
My interests are many. A main hobby centers around antique reproduction furniture construction, and woodworking/carpentry. I belong to the Llano Estacado MCC in Clovis.
A bit of humor seems appropriate to close with:
Professor: "...so don't ask me any stupid questions like, 'What's Newton's First Law?'" Student: "Who's Newton?"
