Fortune

In a day and age where the east coast has lost it's hold on rap and southern rappers are controlling the radio, another artist has finally emerged out of the midwest. His name is Fortune.Fortune grew up with his mother and musician/dj father. Fortune was always exposed to music and was very intrigued and enticed by the music industry. After his father died when he was seven (A pivitol moment of his life), Fortune understood that life was real and he had to become a man.When fortune turned 14 he recorded the score (His first song) in his uncle's studio. Hearing his track in the car inspired him to work even harder and become even better. That same year Fortune & a couple of his close friends joined together and created the group S.T.A.R.S and made 4 mixtapes in addition to Fortunes 6 unreleased mixtapes all over a span of 4 years.When Fortune graduated from high school he linked up with JC and recorded his first official mixtape The Bourne Identity Mixtape. The mixtape has gotten him heavy recognition and local acceptance from his peers.Fortune hates to be considered a rapper. He defines himself as a true lyricist. Even though he raps similar to his peers (Drugs & guns) He also touches base on everyday issues and is able to vividly paint a picture with his distinct and decisive delivery with his lengthy vocabulary.
