On the grind 24/7. Need REAL beats? Get at me.

About Me

Soul Theory has never been the type of person to settle for being anything less than the best. So when he discovered his love for producing, it was inevitable that he would eventually be one of the best to enter the game. "I've always been that way", Soul Theory admits. "If I did something, I always had to be the best at it. If I wasn't good at it, it would always lose my interest." Soul Theory discovered his natural talent for production as a young emcee in high school in need of beats to rhyme on. Tired of industry beats and unable to find producers that could offer the sound he was looking for, Soul Theory decided to learn the art of beat-making so that he could produce for himself. Little did he know, he was about to discover a gift that would take the game by storm.
Inspired by hip hop greats like DJ Premier, Pete Rock, and Alchemist, Soul Theory, now a full-time producer and businessman, has continued to perfect his art over the years, determined to make a successful career out of his passion for hip hop music. Unlike the many carbon-copy producers that saturate the industry today, Soul Theory continues to create original beats with a recognizable soul-inspired style that has heads nodding from New York to California.
In April 2004, Soul Theory independently released his debut LP, titled The Definition, which featured several talented emcees, including Knowledge Medina, Divine, The Whole Truth, Logistic, and himself. The album was produced entirely by Soul Theory and received excellent online reviews. Following The Definition, Soul Theory continued to work with Divine, an up-and-coming hip hop artist from Brooklyn, New York, and shortly after, they decided to do a collaborative album that would feature Soul Theory on the production and Divine on the mic. The album, titled Divine Theory, was released in late April 2005 and features some of Soul Theory's best work.
Shortly after releasing Divine Theory, Divine and Soul Theory parted ways, but Soul Theory stayed busy, producing several tracks for North Carolina artist, Big Cas, and an interlude that was featured on Bay Area legend Rasco's 2006 release, The Dick Swanson Theory, pt.1. "I didn't get proper credit for that track", Soul Theory admits. "But me and Rasco worked it out, and I’m sure we’ll get some more work in before it’s said and done." Knowing that his time would come, he kept it moving, and went on to produce several tracks for up-and-coming artist and longtime friend, Knowledge Medina. After several months of collaboration and many bangin’ joints later, it became evident that the pair had an amazing chemistry in the studio. It was at this point, that they decided to solidify the relationship and form hip hop group, K.S. Flow. On February 1st, 2008, K.S. Flow released their highly anticipated debut hip hop album, On the Come Up.
With over 300 copies in street sales in the month leading up to the release date, K.S. Flow's On the Come Up has received excellent reviews as a must-have hip hop album and has continued to receive a great response since hitting stores, managing to sell over 1,500 copies to date. On their debut album and first major project, Knowledge Medina's highly respected flow and introspective street content is perfectly complemented by Soul Theory's classic bars and world-renowned production.
While Soul Theory is known to most for his production, many discover on On the Come Up that Soul Theory's ability to hold down a mic is no less than his ability to create highly respected beats. Featured on six of the twelve songs, Soul Theory's heavy lyrics and confident flow secures his spot as an artist and leaves the listener wanting more from the man behind the boards.
Knowledge Medina and Soul Theory come together to create an album that displays, not only their undeniable talent, but their amazing chemistry as well. It is comprised of twelve tracks of real music, great hip hop, and no filler with a theme of a real life struggle and a mission that everyone can relate to. K.S. Flow's On the Come Up has received an astounding Internet and regional response and many of K.S. Flow's fans have hailed On the Come Up as an instant classic.
Since graduating from the University of Miami in May of 2007, Soul Theory has been in the studio full-time making beats and working on projects with his camp, Flow Affiliated, which consists of artist, Knowledge Medina, producer, Timeless, and himself. "I've been real fortunate to be able to make a living off of this hip hop music", says Soul Theory. "But this is only the beginning, I'm still gunnin' for that top 10 status." And with fans worldwide catching onto Soul Theory's soul-inspired production style and undeniable talent, it's just a matter of time before his hard work and dedication pays off.

Aside from the Timeless-produced "Gonna Shine", On the Come Up is produced exclusively by Soul Theory. Full-time producer Soul Theory's soul-inspired instrumentation & pounding basslines have received international acclaim from his previous production releases, The Definition and Divine Theory, as well as from his independent production work with several notable artists, ranging from the Lawton-bred heavy-hitter, Reks, to North Carolina's Big Cas and the Bay Area's underground legend, Rasco.
Though a new face to many, rap artist Knowledge Medina uses On the Come Up to prove to the world that his respect as a heavyweight bar artist cannot be denied. As he transitions effortlessly from soulful sililoquies to hardbody street anthems, Knowledge Medina keeps the focus on lyrics and carries the listener deep into every verse. Knowledge uses each and every song as an opportunity to truly shine and shows us that he is definitely in the game for good.
