enjoy it while it lasts, cause it ain't gonna last forever.

About Me

i'm a recording engineer, music producer, and guitar player. in years past, i was a pretty good drummer too. i work on album projects, do live recording, and also a good bit of live sound. i have, from time to time, done booking, artist management, marketing, public relations, photography, tour management, promotion, and graphic design centered in the music business.
let's see, what else about me. although i don't really drink that much, i love to go out and socialize. well, i guess sometimes i do drink, maybe just a little. i do like to try new and different things to eat. i'm happy to try any ethnic cuisine that is unfamiliar to me. at the same time, i am a southern boy, and i love southern food. (i think they put sweet ice tea in my baby bottle.) and what most people call a 'meat and three', or 'soul food', is what i used to eat every day growing up. speaking of which, i come from a fairly poor background, and have lived in trailers and/or trailer parks for the better part of my life. and although i am not a redneck anymore, i certainly used to be. but at somepoint, i decided that it wasn't for me and wanted to do something more with my life. even so, you know what they say... "you can take the boy out of the white trash, but you can't take the white trash out of the boy."
but don't get me wrong, i love what i get to do for a living - even though i sometimes get sick of doing it. i love to laugh. i love music. i will eat ice cream on the coldest day of the year. and btw, when it comes to pets. . . I LIKE THE KIND THAT MAKES COFFEE IN THE MORNING! i'm allergic to cats. i was born with a birthmark in the form of a crudely shaped star. being able to whistle very well is something that eludes me. i feel like i was put on this earth to make things sound good. i was also born on a green light, and made for traveling - it's in my blood. i go to see the ballet every chance i get - and so should you. i like big dogs, but no animals for me right now (well, maybe another pet scorpion). i mean, i can barely take care of myself, most of the time. and besides, i like living alone, and being able to do whatever i feel like doing, whenever i feel like doing it. even so, i still get lonely sometimes. matter of fact, i have been alone for most of my life. but it's ok, i like it that way.
oh, and here's a quote that usually comes to mind at least once a day:
"Whereof one cannot speak, thereof one must be silent."
- Ludwig Wittgenstein
“By all means, let us kill every last lovely dream; let us destroy the only trace of goodness and innocence in this wretched, guilty world!”
- from ‘the dark music’ by charles beaumont

My Interests

eleven-dimensional superstring theory (subatomic particle physics), motorcycles, cosmology (the science of the origin and development of the universe - it has nothing to do with makeup), bikini girls and machine guns, aether theory, hot rods, thermodynamics, anything made of leather with buckles/straps/D-rings, astrophysics, things that burn, dark matter and its gravitational effects, guitars, tube amps, hot candle wax, general and special relativity, drums/cymbals of all kinds and sorts, tying up pretty girls (or tying them down!), early Roman history, fast cars, fast music, and even faster women.

i also have an unhealthy fascination with razor blades, and i played with matches and fire when i was a kid.

I'd like to meet:

people to make records with.

new people to play music with.

and someone to book shows for my band.

Music:

----------------------------------

punk rock, hard-core, heavy metal, industrial, rock-a-billy, classical, surf, various electronic sub-generes, rocksteady, chamber music, and anything else that kicks ass.

oh yes, and THE MISFITS are my favorite band.

ever.

Movies:

science fiction, horror, and anything funny.

Television:

You guessed it, lots of sc-fi, horrer, and anything funny. Aqua Teen Hunger Force (numba one in tha hood G), i really liked Farscape and i think the new Battle Star Galactica is amazing. Chappell's show is genius, and Southpark of course has just GOT IT! And it's possibly one of the best shows ever made. There's a lot of great stuff from the past that i like, i loved Aeon Flux, and most everything on Liquid Television. Kung Fu, with david caridean could give your life new meaning and a sense of purpose with every episode. I grew up watching Hitchcock, Twilight Zone, and Tales From the Crypt, so there's that. 120 minutes could either be really good or really lame, depending on the host. and Headbangers FREAKIN' ball, that's all i really need to say. Other than that, The History Channel, Discovery, The Arts Channel, and (formerly) Tech TV, or anything interesting, really.Although i try not to watch too much TV. it really will rot your brain.

Books:

i must admit that i don't get to read as much as i'd like. but when i do, there's h.p. lovecraft, stephen hawking, john donne, brian greene, niel gaiman, e.e. cummings, dougless adams, charles beaumont, and jack keroack.

but mostly equipment manuals and such. usually just when i need to figure something out in a hurry.

and of course, the Bible. i try to read it every night. well, mostly.

Heroes:

i don't know if i have any heroes, really. i'm not really that star struck by any celebrities, or anything. i guess my hero could be anyone that has accomplished what they set out for, regardless of what was in their way. or anyone who has accomplished something that i'd really like to do, but haven't... yet.

but most importantly, my brother. i love him so much. we've always been close, and we'll always be close.
