About Me

..Name and headline are inspired by House of Heroes. They're one of my favorite bands. Check them out here
My name is Andrew, I go to Mississippi State University and I graduated from Horn Lake High School. Home of the Eagles. It's not all that great of a school(Horn Lake I mean, I love MSU) but I put in 13 years at HL schools so I might as well fess up. I lived in the same house my entire life until I moved down here. My parents are still married. I guess that kinda sets me apart from a lot of people. I love my parents and know I can go to them about anything. I am an Eagle Scout which is one of the most rewarding things ever. Earning my Eagle rank is something better than graduating. Another very rewarding thing (even more rewarding than being an Eagle Scout) is being a Christian. Life is hard and I'll admit I'm scared about next semester (I'm taking 18 or 19 hours) and my future (not quite sure where I'm headed). But knowing that I have God on my side makes it so much easier to make it through. I'm pretty easy to get along with and have a good sense of humor. A lot of people don't get it though. They say it's "too smart." Whatever. I don't have a "group" that I fit into. That's because I know who I am and I don't let people change me. I don't trust people very easily and have a hard time letting people into my deepest thoughts and feelings. I play bass guitar and I'm getting pretty good. I also play trombone and was section leader in the band. I am single and looking, so if I know you, just keep that in mind. Well, that's all I can think of. You can ask questions if you want. I don't bite. Well, not hard at least.

Quotes
"Sometimes people put up walls...not to keep people out but see who cares enough to tear them down and then stay."
"To love at all is to be vulnerable. Love anything and your heart will certainly be wrung, probably broken. But if you don't want your heart to be broken, don't give it to anybody. Wrap it up carefully round with hobbies and little luxuries, avoid all personal entanglements. Lock it up safe in the casket of selfishness. But in that casket-safe, dark, motionless-it will change. Your heart will not be broken; it will become unbreakable, impenetrable, irredeemable. The only safe place from the tragedy of a broken heart is hell." ~CS Lewis
"It may be hard for an egg to turn into a bird: it would be a jolly sight harder for it to learn to fly while remaining an egg. We are like eggs at present. And you cannot go on indefinitely being just an ordinary, decent egg. We must be hatched or go bad." C.S. Lewis
"'You come of the Lord Adam and the Lady Eve,' said Aslan. 'And that is both honour enough to erect the head of the poorest beggar, and shame enough to bow the shoulders of the greatest emperor in earth.'" Jack Lewis (aka C.S.) in Prince Caspian
"'You would not have called to me unless I had been calling to you,' said the Lion." Jack Lewis in The Silver Chair
"When you are arguing against Him you are arguing against the very power that makes you able to argue at all." Jack Lewis in Mere Christianity
"'Yes,' said Queen Lucy. 'In our world too, a Stable once had something inside it that was bigger than our whole world.'" Jack Lewis in The Last Battle
"'Safe?' said Mr. Beaver...'Who said anything about safe? 'Course he isn't safe. but he's good. He's the King, I tell you.'" Jack Lewis in The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe
"Friendship is unnecessary, like philosophy, like art... It has no survival value; rather it is one of those things that give value to survival." Jack Lewis
"Much of the modern resistance to chastity comes from men's belief that they "own" their bodies - those vast and perilous estates, pulsating with the energy that made the worlds, in which they find themselves without their consent and from which they are ejected at the pleasure of Another!" Jack Lewis
"To me it suffices to wonder at these secrets and to attempt humbly to grasp with my mind a mere image of the lofty structure of all that there is."-Albert Einstein, my fellow INTP
"All men's miseries derive from not being able to sit in a quiet room alone."-Pascal
"Faith is different from proof; the latter is human, the former is a Gift from God."-Pascal
"Jesus is the God whom we can approach without pride and before whom we can humble ourselves without despair."-Pascal
"There are only three types of people; those who have found God and serve him; those who have not found God and seek him, and those who live not seeking, or finding him. The first are rational and happy; the second unhappy and rational, and the third foolish and unhappy."-Pascal
"There are only two kinds of men: the righteous who think they are sinners and the sinners who think they are righteous."-Pascal
"Vanity of science. Knowledge of physical science will not console me for ignorance of morality in time of affliction, but knowledge of morality will always console me for ignorance of physical science."-Pascal
"I know I'm not strong enough. I know I can't do this by myself. I know the only reason I've gotten this far is because my Father wants me here. I don't know why. I don't know how I'll ever stop crying or how I'll ever make friends. But I do know that He is with me, and I have the prayers of the saints on my side. And I know that even though my eyes burn, my nose stings, my body is tired, my table is covered in used tissues; even though I'm a complete mess, I am His mess, and I am dearly loved."

.. width="425" height="350" ..

Movies:

Titantic. LOTR (that's Lord of the Rings for anybody who has been living under a rock and doesn't know.) all 3 of them. The Harry Potter Movies are pretty good. I happen to like the 3rd one, so keep your opinion to yourself. Jurrasic Park. Willy Wonka. A Walk to Remember. Star Wars, especially Episode 3. One single tear rolled down my cheek. That's one more than any other movie on this list. Napoleon Dynamite. And I'm not just saying that to be cool. Everybody who knows me thinks of me when they see that movie. I am Napoleon Dynamite!!! Free Willy. The Lion King. National Treasure. Fight Club. Many more. I just can't think of them right now.

Television:

Boy Meets World. The Wonder Years. Happy Days. Full House. Family Matters. Step by Step. Jay Leno. Conan O'Brien. SNL. The O'Reilly Factor. CMT/GAC/Fuse/Vh1/Mtv2. Whose Line. Quantum Leap. Seaquest. The Tick (Spoooooooooon!!!!!!!!). I don't like new shows. I like music videos and news programs but not reality tv.

Books:

The Bible. Jesus Freaks. Lord of the Rings. Harry Potter. Left Behind. Babylon Rising. Dean Koontz. Stephen King. Lord of the Flies. Forrest Gump. Kissing Doorknobs. C.L.U.T.Z. A Walk to Remember. I read all the time and have alot more books that I enjoy reading and rereading. I just can't think of them right now.

Heroes:

Jesus , and anybody who has had enough courage to stand up to persecution for their faith in the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Anybody who daily lives trying their hardest to live for Him and Him alone. Oh yeah! That guy that beat Super Mario Brothers 3 in 11 minutes. That's awesome
