I like anything that makes a funny noise, like my black boots. They squeak when I walk, and it makes me giggle. And Naomi's bike, it sounds like it is humming a wee tune when you use it, kinda like the automatic doors in Douglas Adams books that make a small noise of satisfaction when they are used. I like sketching, and ripping off the designs of clothes I like for a smidgen of the price. Damn the man, and all that... Perhaps this is really weird, but sometimes I find great satisfaction in getting something that was really dirty really clean. I dunno what that's about. Give me a grimy bit of jewelry, and I'm in heaven.
Folks, I don't get to meet many living under this rock. It's terribly nice and all, real Granite, and close to all the desirable amenities... but still. Don't often get to invite people round for tea and cake.
Mixed CD's that various family members have made me. So a little bit of everything. Though my favourite song at this precise moment in time is 'Somebody's Moggy'. Tis hilarious, yet slightly cruel...
Inside I'm Dancing. It is fabulous, really.
Black Books, anyone who has never seen it has never lived. It is one of the funniest things ever. Jeeves and Wooster, never were books so sympathetically and successfully transferred onto television. Mapp and Lucia, for those who find people with voices that go right through you engaging. Agatha Christie's Poirot, my favourite detective realised on screen. House, simply because Hugh Laurie is attractive in it, who knew?? Recently, I have a growing fondness for, ahem, Lovejoy. His hair fascinates me. Spaced and The Mighty Boosh continue to grow on me, like mould on a bedroom wall. In an entirely positive sense of course.
Because I am not at home with all my beloved books, I'm sort of hunting for things to read here. Stupidly I only brought two with me for reasons of suitcase space. Tipping the Velvet by Sarah Waters is here though, that is a fantastic book, as all of hers are. So I'll probably end up reading that again. Any suggestions as to books I should look out for would be really welcome.
Dick Van Dyke. The man can do anything.
