Boxing Day

Live at Bad Genie This Friday!

About Me

Shot
DAN, guitar (Les Paul 'Agile', Epiphone Dot, Peavey Classic 50)
'Previously fronting the early 90's alternative band Dunce, Dan has now moved on to front Boxing Day. Priding himself on his unique melody lines and simple guitar work, Dan has surely become a driving factor in the band. Whether it be working on songs at home, recording, mixing or just relaxing after working all day, Dan's commitment to this band is non short of great.'
*****
NICK, bass (Tobias 6 string, Fender Bassman Head, SWR 410 cab, Fender Bassman 115)
'What a wonder it is to watch Nick play. He's always evolving, learning, driving and pushing us to the limit. Hailing from Mongolia, or China, or Japan.. hell why not, even Hawaii, "Taco", as he's known to some, creates wonderous basslines complimenting every aspect of the song. Nick has also studied the works of Victor Wooten, Stu Hamm, Primus and finally the RHCP to name a select few.'
*****
ROB, drums (Taye kit, Evans heads, Zildjian A Customs, Gibralter hardware, Pearl Eliminator Dbl bass)
'Where do we start with this Thunder God? Rob's unique approach and style greatly shone through auditioning for Boxing Day in Nov of 05. Rob is quite passive however, if irritated enough.. you will surely know of it. :) Boxing Day has been raiding his basement since Dec of 05. Many, many thanks to him and his wife for putting up with us. Thanks guys.'
*****
DON, guitar (Fender American Deluxe Strat, Gibson SG, Fender Hot Rod Deville 410)
'Moving to Wisconsin in April of 04, Don drove here from Tucson/Phoenix, AZ to be with his longtime gf, Stephenie. Learning to play drums and guitar almost simultaniously, Don played drums in MANY Tucson bands... but guitar was the choice made for this band. He uses a very rhythmatic approach and tasteful non flashy leads to compliment the excellent melody lines from Dan's vocals, Nick's melodic and funky basslines, and finally Rob's solid and tight drumwork.'

My Interests

Music:

Band Website: In the works at present time. Check back...
Band Members: Starting with Nick and Don, auditioning Rob, then finally Dan.. Boxing Day was official on Dec. 26th, 2005.

Influences: Each of us bring a unique formula to the table. Dan is classic 70's and 80's rock and indie with influences ranging from The Smiths to The Cure. Nick studies independent artists such as Stu Hamm and Victor Wooten. Also Les Claypool from Primus and Flea from RHCP. Rob is a book of knowledge when it comes to drummers and music. Anything from The Police to Disturbed as Rob's influences vary wildly. Don is straight melodic with a funk feel. Influences from The Foo Fighters to the RHCP have assisted in the sound we as a Quad produce.
Sounds Like: Alternative rock with variable funk influence. ENJOY.
