About Me

...OUR NEXT SHOW...
To hear a few hot diggity songs by The Subsidies, visit www.thesubsidies.com
The Subsidies: fun, rockin', energetic, songs you know and love, another jag bomb, inevitable beer gogles, sweat, red vinyl, party, tired at 1:30am, tall, loud, Bon Jovi, sing until your voice goes out, "I love this song!", beer me, exhausted, shake your booty, crank it to 11, funny, crazy drunk girl, track suit, PBR me ASAP, whoa!, hot=strip, packed house, emotionally available, smell of rich mahogany, jumpy, Petrone, mighty mighty, hungry like the wolf, bouncy, invigorating, a bad mix with alergy medication, occasional bad haircut, dance until your voice goes out, black and tan, handcuffs, and one hell of a model citizen.
Get your friends, get a cab, and rock out with The Subsidies!
The Subsidies are:
Joe Lover (guitar, vocals) - Joe eats guitar for breakfast. This is the same Joe Lover who once out-dueled Carlos Santana (not the famous one, but he of Carlos and Son's Plumbing out of Oswego, MN) in a thrill-a-minute guitar race to the death. Just know that when Joe starts playing, pants start dropping (usually his from a lack of belt).
Dave Lover (drums, vocals) - Dave brings the energy at each show. Literally. He has a case full of stolen uranium (Libyans!) and we pour it into the 'ol Flux Capacitor before our first set. He enjoys reading old yearbooks and leading through change. He is older than the majority of the band, but still young- to middle-age at heart. He chooses to be "that" bald, ok?
Collin Hummel (lead vocals) - Collin can sing the phone book. Just ask him. He is well versed in the art of dead-time-filler (come watch a show to enjoy him stretching awkward pauses out as his guitar-playing cohorts restring for the eigth time). Aside from his penchant for all things covered in gravy, Collin prides himself on not letting the art of outercourse die. Ask him for a tutorial. Collin has nonthing against women flashing him at shows - he dares you ...
Laura Van (bass) - Van is the diva in the band and requires Flavored Water from the Philippines, a masseur (preferably young and with large hands) and a pomegranate in the dressing room for each show. She can often be seen with her back to the crowd; she's either discussing the increasing occurence of Chimera in the human population and it's impact to society with the drummer, showing off her butt, or is just staring at the back wall... we haven't decided.
Grant Wright (guitar, vocals) - Grant has to be (contractually obligated) described via three concepts: 1. Passion For Excellence. 2. On Time. 3. Wicked Vert. He also would have accepted "Snakes."
