About Me

It seems as if I've been studying for ever so long...well I have been, albeit, in a very sporadic manner. I've lived, studied, and toured almost everywhere; Santa Barbara, Indianapolis, St. Paul, London, Cambridge, Sussex, Italy, and currently, Phoenix. Anyway, I do sing professionally, mainly classical music, but I've also studied French Literature, and I absolutely adore researching/presenting ancient musical works by way of Musicology. Hmmm...I think for now that is all. Ciao!

My Interests

Currently, I'm interested only in re-reading various works of Hesse and Moliere, and in researching & learning various works of J.S. Bach and his compatriots to perform.

I'd like to meet:

.. width="425" height="350" ....If it were possible, I'd like to meet La Callas, Anna Magnani, Pier Paolo Pasolini, J.S. Bach (er ist ein Gott), Candy Darling, E. M. Forster, a younger Joe Dallesandro (for a bit of lovin'), a young Brando (for the same reason), Montgomery Clift (same), George Sand (that is Aurora Dudevant and her brilliant circle of friends), Dali (for his hilarious manifesto than for his art) Francis Bacon (for his art), Reinaldo Arenas, Edie Sedgewick, Bette Davis, Arthur Rimbaud (as well as his amour Paul Verlaine), Joan Crawford, Camille Claudel (and her brother Paul for that matter), Edith Massey, Greta Garbo, Thomas Tallis, Catherine de Medici, Petronius, and many others too numerous to type. However, since it isn't possible to meet these divine and talented individuals, I'd like to meet Jesus...and Amy Sedaris for that matter.

Music:

Hmmm...this is rather difficult only because I have ever so many interests. At any rate, here are some of my favorites...La Callas, OMD, Siouxsie, Diamanda Galas, Nina Simone, Ladytron, Roxy Music (for that matter), Echo & Bunnymen, Bauhaus, The Wire, Lush, Pizzicato 5, Mary Jane Girls, Portishead, FSOL, Visage, Q. Lazzerus (mainly for "Goodbye Horses"), Adult, Nina Haggen, PULP, Blur, Jaqueline Dupre, Ms. Holiday, Soeur Sourire (the singing nun), Yma Sumac, Loretta Lynn, Joy Division, Smiths, the Delfonics, P.J. Harvey, Def Leppard, the Jesus & Mary Chain, Manu Chou, JJ Fad, the Cranes, Lisa Gerrard, the Slits, Caberet Voltaire, Linda Lamb, Soviet, Tiga, Radiohead, Soft Cell, Everything But the Girl, Berlin, Kraftwerk, Fretwork, Emma Kirkby, Sylvia McNair, the Tallis Scholars, and Jordi Savall. Again, this is only just a smidge...

Movies:

Law of Desire, Volver, Lucia y el Sexo, 3 Women, Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown, Dark Habits, Medea (w/La Callas), Edipo Re, il Satyricon, Maurice, Carrington, Trash, Female Troubles, Welcome Home Roxy Carmichael, Ridicule, La Reine Margot, All About Eve, Best in Show, Romance, and Orgazmo...

Television:

the Facts of Life, Degrassi-the next generation, Absolutely Fabulous, Are You Being Served, Sex in the City, Sopranos, OZ, Six Feet Under, 360 w/ Anderson Cooper (mainly because Anderson Cooper is beautiful), the Daily Show (mainly because Jon Stewart is beautiful), Square Pegs (a show that dates me a bit), Thundercats, JEMM, Voltron (with the robotic lions rather than space cruisers), V, Dynasty, Falcon Crest, and Laura (a funny spanish show).

Books:

Manifesto of Dali, Les Precieuse Ridicules, Song of Solomon, Wigfield, Holidays on Ice, the Masters of Rome series, Demian, Knolp, Un saison en Enfer, the Satyricon, Less than Zero, Franney & Zooey, Narcisus & Goldmund, Le Roman de Fauvel (more for the pictures and music), and the BIBLE.

Heroes:

CANDY DARLING Tina Chow, Brigid Berlin, Patty Hearst, Viva, Holly Woodlawn, Maria Callas, Frida Kahlo, the fashion club from Daria, Anne Coulter, and some other people...

ROME, FLORENCE, now VENICE

So we are now Venice. Rome was nice, especially all of the beautifull ruined buildings and all of the naked men, actually naked male sculptures. It's funny, almost all of the male statues are full on ...

Siamo in Roma

After an extremely bumpy ride from Phoenix to London, then a smooth ride from London to Rome, we, Hayley and I, are now in the eternal city of Roma. We are currently in the center of town enjoying a b...

White Chalk

I just thought I'd stop in to say how much I love the new P.J. Harvey album. A lot of people that I know are perturbed that it is not like her other albums. Well fuck all y'all haters!!! That's probab...

23

I haven't the faintest clue why (well actually I do, I got to see the group live) but I am in love with the song "23" by Blonde Redhead. It reminds me a bit of Lush, yet with the same chord progressio...

Un rayo del sol

On a day like this, when the sun is shining (even though I do quite despise the sun) and the wind is blowing a nice cool breeze which rustles the leaves in the trees, everything seems to fade from my ...
